The Butter WAS NOT Dry.
It was crumbly & Soft. It felt so good on my skin.
i honestly dont think it smells smokey.
IT SMELLS LIKE GLOVES.
But the scent wears off VERY quickly. i made a BIG Mistake buying two jars of this stuff. the jar is HUGE. REALLY! when i saw it i was flabbergasted, i didnt expect it. my cousin said: WHOA. this might last me a good 8 months if not more. i planned on mixing it with jojoba oil almond oil & nubian heritage shea butter lotion for it to smell good. when i did i put too much oil in it & it became watery & i got upset. but i went to go do some work & when i came back for it it was fluffy & soft. its like the butter absorbed the oils. i am SO happy with my purchase. i have a hernia scar ive been dealing with my whole life(i have keloid skin so it hasnt healed)im hopin it will with this. if it does i will update....TRY THIS OUT, YU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. just because others didnt like the smell doesnt mean they shoudve rated it poor. natural products are gonna smell funny, if yu are lookin for results from a skin problem, deal with it.

I have been using this for a couple of months to help the skin on my shins. Last year, I walked through a bush that I was highly allergic to (I didn't know that at the time) and I ended up with huge rashes/hives on my legs and they got infected, etc. After letting them heal and taking an antibiotic to clear up the infection, I have been trying various things to get the few spots left on my shins to lighten up. This shea butter, combined with some licorice extract, has been helping to fade the spots pretty quickly. I think the shea butter is pretty heavy and thick, but if you need a lot of moisturizing, then it will be perfect for you.
There are two disadvantages, though. Make sure to take off all surrounding clothing because it will turn them yellow until you wash them again (I got it on my socks a few times). Another thing is the smell, a lot of people don't like it. I'm not really a fan of the smell, either. But if you put a couple of drops of lavender oil (or another oil that you like), then you can solve that issue.

After reading many reviews on here, I ordered this item, used my mixer to soften it (hot soapy water will remove the residue from any tools used) and I absolutely LOVE this stuff. First, it is real shea butter. With a little research, I found that the best shea butter is older shea butter, and shea butter gets yellower as it ages. So when I received yellow shea butter, I was very pleased. The container was plastic, but I transferred it all to glass containers once softened and recycled the plastic. Also, any undesirable smell (I didn't mind it in natural form at all) can be fixed with a little essential oil in the mixing process as another reviewer indicated OR just wait after applying because the smell disappears after a while. I can't believe I ever used chemically-contaminated moisturizers/foot soaks/bath oils/acne medication/scar reducers/hair conditioners/chap sticks/wrinkle products, etc. etc. etc. when this amazing product has been available! I will never go back to that awful garbage again.Customer Review: It works....but have to wait

This shea butter came in a huge package. The color is golden yellow with a little bit contamination (with something brown color). I heard that its smell is unpleasant, it's true. At first, I thought its smell like a burning pork skin, but it wasn't too bad. I think most of people could tolerate this smell after times.
I applied this product on my hands and face (including under eye area), it was quite greasy and (very) slowly absorbed. After using this product for 2-3 days, my skin looked softer and the wrinkle looked shallower. Unfortunately, pimples appeared on my forehead and both cheeks, and the skin around my lips and nails scaled. I'm not sure whether it's because of this product contained natural vitamin A or due to other factors.
Anyway, those pimples seemed to be decreased after continue using this product for 1-2 weeks. Now I used this product for 2-3 weeks. My skin looks smoother, softer, and the wrinkle under my eyes look almost disappeared

Wonderful service! This product arrived 3 days after I placed my order. Great care was taken in the packaging, and I was surprised to see that the container was actually filled with 1 lb. 6 oz. pieces of raw shea butter nuggets. A bonus of six extra ounces. I have never used raw shea butter before, and would describe using this product like playing with play-doh. I opened the plastic container, took a chunk out, placed it in the palm of one hand, and softened it by using the forefinger of my other hand. Once I got it to the consistancy I prefered, I then began to rub it all over my entire body. I am a diabetic and suffer from severe, intense, itching skin, and immediately felt relief in using this product. It is a bit greasy like real butter, but did not leave an oily residue on my sheets, and I felt wonderful upon waking up this morning. I can't wait to see what the long term effects of using this product beholds in store for me!
