I agree with the last reviewer that if it is used consistently it does work. I love this stuff.I have previously used Estee Lauder Idealist which was ok for giving my skin a nice smooth matte look when I was younger and because I couldn't always afford it I also tried many drugstore brands and many of those have an annoying fragrance and would make me break out in cystic acne which I never had a problem cystic acne but I do break out around the chin, cheek and forehead area. And so started looking into using something with a good amount of retinol and some lines are so expensive. So in 2005 I took a chance to buy AFIRM 1X from Dermstore to get rid of the red marks left on my skin from scratching the bumps. And not only did it lighten those but it firmed up the skin on my forehead and shrank the big pores around my nose and eventually I stopped breaking out. Then I stopped using it and after a while the skin went back to the way it was before I used it. So now I continue to use it and I'm now using 3X. You don't have to use a lot so a little goes a long way. It comes in a metallic tube so you can use it all. I never had such good results with any drugstore brands. I use this at bedtime as it says on the tube. I also use a 3% salicylic acid solution that I get from makeup artist choice a few times a week. You leave it on for seven minutes and rinse it off. That keeps me from breaking out. I am 46 I get many compliments on my skin.

AFIRM 1x by TxSystems, with the patented APS MICROSPONGE system containing .15% Retinol, is designed to minimize the appearance of aging due to sun damage: fine lines, brown spots and surface roughness. Regular use of AFIRM dramatically transforms your skin, providing a radiant glow. AFIRM should be used as part of a comprehensive skin care and sun avoidance program including the use of sunscreens. Ideal for those unable to tolerate Renova. Recommended to use the 1x if you are starting a retinol based product or have experienced any difficulty with stronger retinols or vitamin A creams in the past. Afirm can be irritating! Follow instruction card. Use alone, very sparingly (Pea-sized amount) every other night or less often as tolerated and wait 30 minutes after washing before applying. Not for use if pregnant or nursing.
