Customer Reviews of Ambassador Hairbrush, Oval, Oak Handle, 1 HairbrushCustomer Review: OW! Overpriced and poor quality control Summary: 2 Stars
I am comparing the Ambassador Hairbrush, oval, oak handle to Good Boar Blends Ceramic Brush 041457456989 purchased at Walmart for eight dollars and 34 cents. The ambassador brush arrived with an odor on it that is very chemical like a cleaner or wood conditioner or something so beware of that if that is an issue for you. I feel my Goody brush is a higher quality brush than the Ambassador. The brush head on the Ambassador may be twice the size of the goody but the nylon bristles simply end with a tiny sharp nylon ball on the end so they scratch my scalp when the brush does make it through my thick hair to the scalp. The boar head bristles are not cut uniformly and some of the nylon bristles are bent over so it looks like quality control may be asleep at the wheel. My goody brush looked mint when purchased. The handles are pretty similar feel - wood - only the Ambassador has the smelling finish on it which may be why I prefer the Goody as well. I think value wise, they probably should be priced the same as eventhough the Ambassador is poor quality you do get twice the bristles; however, it was too dense to go past just the outer layer of my hair so when using it i am just slicking the outer layer and not often getting through to the scalp which defeats the whole purpose of the boar bristles which is their fantastic ability to distribute scalp oils throughout the hair. I was looking for a second brush - a better brush - so I will be returning Ambassador to Amazon and keeping Goody boar blend brush and searching for another helper.
