Customer Reviews of Ambassador Hairbrush, Oval, Oak Handle, 1 HairbrushCustomer Review: An extremely average brush Summary: 3 Stars
My hairdresser recommended that I get a natural bristle brush, because it would be gentle on my scalp and would help my hair look glossier. I've had natural bristle brushes in the past, so I have some experience with them, but I have to say that I am a little disappointed in this Ambassador Hairbrush, Oval, Oak Handle, 1 Hairbrush.
The description does not make it clear that this brush has a combination of nylon and natural bristles. I was looking for an all-natural brush, so this was a significant omission. Also, the bristles on this brush are scratchy, so it's not as gentle on my scalp as I had hoped.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the white rubber used for the bristle pad looks cheap, and the wooden handle is not ergonomic for your hand.
This hairbrush is a step up from the $5 boar bristles at my local beauty supply, but it's not the good quality I had hoped for. This is an extremely average brush, so don't expect anything exceptional from this product.
Customer Review: Just what I was looking for Summary: 5 Stars
I like a hairbrush that has both plastic quills for detangling and bristles for smoothing, but they're kind of hard to find in stores. I finally had to throw away my old brush I'd been using for 10+ years, and I wanted a similar brush that would last me a good long time, so I took a chance on this one.
I'd never used boar bristles before, but it turns out they are great on my rather fine hair. My hair breaks easily, and most brushes I've tried are stiff and tend to tear my hair. This one is softer and gentler, but still with enough stiffness to get all the way to the scalp for detangling. The back and handle are a solid piece of wood, so I'm hoping it will last me for years. The polished wood even smells good to me! I think I've found a keeper.
Customer Review: Why did I wait so long??? Summary: 5 Stars
Had this brush for a few months now and I LOVE it. I have wavy shoulder-length hair that seems to frizz more than lay flat, so I was skeptical about how silky my hair would be using this type of bristle. Well, it works beautifully--doesn't break my hair, evenly distributes natual oils, feels like a scalp massage every time I use it. It does have some nylon bristles as well as boars hair - an attibute missing from the description - but I think that makes it go through my hair easier and prevents tangling. Well worth the cost...I'm sooooo glad I didn't spend $50-$100 on a brush. I thought you would have to spend that much to get quality, but I was wrong. This brush is GREAT! Highly recommend.
Customer Review: Great brush; great value Summary: 5 Stars
I have really wanted a good boar bristle brush that would easily get through my thick hair. This brush has met all of my expectations and more. I find that I don't want to stop brushing my hair because it feels so good. I have also tried the manufacturer's recommendation of conditioning the brush with essential oils, and I love how that makes my hair soft and fragrant (but not overpowering) while it softens the bristles as well. I expect this brush to be one I keep for a long time. Great value for the money and highly recommended.
Customer Review: quality hairbrush Summary: 5 Stars
This brush is a quality item to treasure and enjoy for many years.
Aesthetics: The wood has a nice shape and color and a solid feel. The bristles are a pleasing combination of black boar bristle and white nylon.
Function: Makes hair soft and shiny. Feels great against the scalp.
Hint: Make sure to wash brush every week or two according to package instructions.
