I purchased this brush because the trend this season is smoother shinier hair. It does the job but it is small; almost child size (of course, they indicate it is small in the description). I wanted something larger but Amazon did not offer the Ambassador oval brush in any larger sizes. Ambassador suggests to those with thick hair to purchase the 'pneumatic' style, which I did, but I find I still have to exert a bit to get the natural bristles down to the scalp where they do the most good in adding shine. I have closely cropped (italian boy cut) hair so the size and effort do not bother me tremendously; however, I would think this brush too small and not 'pneumatic' enough to get the job done on long thick tresses.
