I purchased this flat iron alittle over a week ago. I have used it everyday since then. I first must say I have very dry and thick hair. I have to use conditioner everytime I shampoo my hair or I won't be able to brush or comb it afterwards. I have tried this flat iron both ways, when my hair is wet and when it is dry. I have to say I don't care much for it doing anything when my hair is wet, it takes more than 5 to 6 passes for my hair to feel even the slightest bit dry. (it will still feel damp) However, when I use it after I have used a blow dryer it works wonders. It makes my hair feel very soft and it stays straight all day long even without hair spray. As stated above I have very thick hair and have problems with it getting frizzy after being outside in the humidity for even a short period of time, but when I have used the flat iron it seems to keep it from frizzing. I have also noticed that once I use the flat iron and get to about the 2nd (when hair is dry) or 3rd pass (when hair is wet)my hair is sooooo hot I can't hardly touch it, its really hard to get it set to a nice warming point. The dial in which you use to change the temperature has a 5, 10, 15, and 20. It does not have any notches or dots in between so you would know exactly what temperature you have it set on. So, I still have yet to find the perfect temperature for my hair. All in all though for the price of this flat iron, I will use it till it dies and then purchase another one. I also wish I would have purchased a 2 inch instead of a 1 since my hair is so thick. I will remember that for the next purchase. I do recommend this item for anyone looking for a flat iron, its nice, sleek, and since its so cheap it won't put a huge dent in your pocket. In another review someone said this iron does not get hot, but I have to disagree with that statement. I feel that it gets very hot. But I guess it depends on what you consider to be hot, to me 400 degrees is pretty hot.
