Customer Review: Great cologne, despite the low price.

I'm not sure why this is a discontinued product, nor do I know why it is so cheap compared to other Thierry Mugler fragrances... It is a great smelling, long lasting fragrance that should be up there with all the expensive ones. Yet it is very little known, as are all Thierry Mugler fragrances.
SCENT;
The VERY top note (can last up to a minute) smells like A*men, cheap perfume, and all the common synthetic summer brands mixed together. For me, this only lasts a few seconds. The upper-middle note then changes for the better, with an earthy, woody, and vanilla hint to it. It is still very strong, especially in the first 30 minutes, so apply sparingly. The dry-down and lower notes have less of the synthetic A*men scent, more of the earthy scent, but projects little.
LONGEVITY;
Although this is the longest lasting cologne I've owned, it's still not as enduring as other people claim--at least, not on my skin. On moisturized skin, it projects nicely, (maybe even too far and too strong) for the first 1-2 hours. After that, it is noticeable within a couple feet (2-4 hours). You can smell it on your unwashed skin even 12 hours after application, but there is practically no projection, so I don't feel that counts towards longevity.
COMPARED TO A*MEN AND OTHER FRAGRANCES;
There is a similarity between this and Angel Men. You can tell it's derived from A*men, but it's a little more masculine and has earthy lower notes. None of Thierry Muglers fragrances are excessively masculine, but unlike A*men, your girlfriend/wife couldn't pull off wearing this. That slight masculinity, along with a unique and lasting scent, is what made me buy this over A*men. There are so many designer colognes out there with an aquatic/summer/synthetic aroma that this winter cologne will surely stand out to people. I can't even smell my polo cologne now without realizing how inferior it is.
I say don't be mainstream. Don't go with the guido/frat-boy fragrances. Give Thierry Mugler a shot.
