I use this product frequently not only on myself but also on many of the rescue dogs I bring home that have skin irritation, the itchies and even the ones that have allergies with itchies to the max! Bassets have many wrinkles and loose skin folds so they are at a higher risk for skin irritation. This stuff works great to help calm and prevent problems.
My 7yr. old granddaughter (with allergy issues as well as gluten and casein intolerance) uses this frequently to help calm the irritation when she has a reaction. She says she "Loves how it makes her skin feel cooler and takes away the itchy, scratchies." She will soon have her own Monkey Butt powder to keep at home and in her pack for school.
After having surgery for a very bad ankle fracture this powder was a life saver! I would apply after the shower and sprinkle a little on me sheets to reduce the risk of friction and possible ulcers do to pressure. As a nurse I wish all hospitals would stock this as a regular product. Even though it has talc in it, you don't get the blow back like you do with baby powder. You skin feels so soft after you apply the product. The smell is mild as well as pleasant. Before I forget if you run out of deodorant this works very will in a pinch.
For those that are experiencing caking (as some reviews state) you are using to much. When I apply the powder I just use a light coating on the skin and rub in well. No cakng problems whatsoever.
Great Product at a Reasonable price! Well worth the money spent!
