PROS: This shampoo WILL lighten your hair. If you are like me and have had blond hair since birth, but like mine, it slowly darkened over time until by my age (28) your hair was an ugly, dark, ash blond; this shampoo will make it blond again. Over the course of 1-2 months this shampoo lightened my hair back up to a nice medium/somewhat light blond. It's nice to have this and not have to dye and re-dye my hair to keep it that way. CONS: A little bit of this shampoo does NOT go a long way. I wish they would make a bigger bottle, because you really have to use a lot of it on your hair, and that doesn't help when the price is $11.00 a bottle. Also, it doesn't clean as well as other shampoos. It is not because it can't clean as well, it's because it doesn't spread very well, which is why you have to use a lot. You'll find your hair underneath the top layer may be still dirty or oily sometimes because the shampoo doesn't spread to those layers underneath very well and you really need to use about 1/4 of a cup of this stuff if you have long hair like mine. Mine is 1/3 the way down my back.
DECISION: This shampoo makes my hair blond and that is more important than the problems with it being spreadable throughout my hair to get a thorough cleaning. I solve this problem by sometimes first putting a regular shampoo in my hair, washing it and then following up with Aubrey Organics. I will continue to use this shampoo because of its ability to make my hair blond and because it is organic. Unless I find something better, lol.
