This, along with Mop C Curl Refreshing Spray, are my two Holy Grail products. I have very fine, frizzy hair. If I air-dry it without any product, it looks like the biggest pile of poo -- no curls, just frizz.
Aveda Be Curly is one of the best curl creams on the market and has been my favorite for about 7 years now. After showering, I smooth the cream onto my sopping wet hair, focusing on the bottom-half of my head. Too much on the top weighs my hair down. I try to make sure my hair is as wet as possible, because the moment my hair starts to dry, the curls separate and the frizz starts. This product helps hold the curls together so they dry into beautiful little spirals. I blow dry on low heat, holding the curls (not scrunching very much). This usually takes about an hour -- I alternate between getting dressed, doing my makeup, and drying my hair. I just try to make sure that when my hair is 80-90% dry, I use the blow dryer to reach 100% dryness. It adds that final oomph to my hair. And voila, beautiful curly hair!
Because my hair is so fine, it tends to be flat on top, and two things help this:
1) Clipping up small sections of hair around the crown of my head with tiny claw-clips so that the hair dries away from my scalp.
2) Once my hair is dry, using a VERY light mist of Mop C spray on the crown of my head and scrunching under the dryer.
Anyway, that's what I do to achieve great curls. I would recommend BE Curly to anyone with curly, frizzy hair. It's great!!
