Customer Reviews of Aztec Secret - Indian Healing Clay, 1 lb clayCustomer Review: Face feels amazing after... so/so for acne clearing Summary: 5 Stars
I've used this mask four times now, using it every other day. It really does help draw "stuff" (ie. black heads) to the surface for easier cleansing. I am in the midst of a pretty bad breakout, and though I don't think it's done much for the existing acne, I think it may be preventing the breakout from going any further, since it's purging my pores each time. It may be slowly helping and I'm just not being patient enough. What I can say is this... my face (where not broken out) feels absolutely amazing after using this mask. It's smooth and glowing.
I did not find this product hard to use OR hard to clean up. I mixed it w/ the Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar and would recommend that you do it this way, since the vinegar alone has been known to help clear acne (if that's what you're going for... I have began putting the vinegar alone on my face at night; we'll see how that goes). I put on a semi-thick (1/4"?) layer and let dry for 30 minutes. At the end of the 30 minutes, you are ready to have the stuff off of your face, but it's not extremely uncomfortable, either. I can see where people get the 'black hole' thing, but it's honestly NOT that bad. It's different; that's all. Just a different sensation than what you're used to.
How I remove the mask is by wetting a wash cloth with very warm water, and gently pressing it against a large area of skin for a few seconds. Then I gently rub, rinse the cloth, and repeat until it's gone. It takes less than 5 minutes. I have not had issues w/ it staining towels or anything. You get a LOT for your money. I've been using 1 tsp mask & 2 tsp vinegar per mask.
Overall, I think this is a pretty great product. I would recommend it as a "maintenance" skin care product, because I really do think it does what it says regarding removing gunk from your pores.
