Iron works like a dream! BUY IT! The only CON about this iron is, the opening/tip of it where most are inclined to hold for a better grip is not insulated to protect finger tips from the heat. The cord also does not swivel for those who like that feature, didn't put a damper on me though.
Anyone can make use of this review, but those with coiled "kinky" hair this is especially for you. I will tell you the simple products I use on my hair.
Shampoo: Boykin's, Conditioner: Herbal Essence Totally Twisted.
While my hair is still damp I apply a Leave In Conditioner: Sexy Hair Organics (found at Ross $6) and Anti Humidity Smoothing Milk: Garnier Fructis comb through section hair.
Then I blow dry as strait as possible using a Titanium Round Brush: Hot Tools (also found at Ross $5)**IT IS IMPERATIVE TO BLOW DRY WITH A BOAR BRISTLE BRUSH TO ATTAIN STRAIT ENDS WHEN FLAT IRONING**
Lastly I flat iron. I'm not a professional but I've had my natural hair flat ironed by two different professionals male and female (neither were of African decent) and lucky enough to have both instruct me on what to do at home to keep up my hair. My hair comes out bone strait silky and shinny I may sound like a hair commercial but, it is all true I hope this helps.
Side note I do a hot oil treatment at home using Castor Oil and Hood Dryer to keep my hair healthy and only iron twice a month max if at all.
