Customer Reviews of Batiste Dry Shampoo Original, 5.05 oz

Customer Review: A true bargain
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to say, the smell that bothers others didn't bother me at all. It's not unpleasant, and does a good job of freshening up hair after being around smokers or other elements that would require a hair washing.

This product is much cheaper than anything else I've found. I picked it up at a local beauty supply place and it has worked perfectly for me. I have thick hair that normally only lasts 36 hours before it MUST be washed - this product helps me spread out hair washings, which is much healthier for my hair.

The only time I had trouble with this product was when I was learning how to use it, and sprayed it on too heavily. Since then I've taken it on every trip, and it's been a lifesaver with this broken foot of mine. I recommend it to everyone.

Customer Review: Works well, but smells funky
Summary: 4 Stars

I have tried many of the dry shampoos on the market and think that Batiste is hands-down the best value for the money. It works well on my super-super-oily hair (when I say super, I mean it needs to be washed every 12 hours). After using the product, my hair doesn't look quite as good as when it's freshly washed, but I'm able to skip a day of shampooing and get away with wearing my hair down for most of the day. It also doesn't leave too much residue on my hair or scalp. My only issue is with the smell. I can't adequately describe it other than saying that it's just not pleasant. It's not a bad smell, it just takes some getting used to. Klorane is my favorite line, but it's terribly pricey. Algemarin doesn't work quite as well, but smells better. Bumble & Bumble is an utter sham.

Customer Review: Good stuff, Great Price. Rated the same as the $20 kinds!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is great, and it does exactly what it says it will do. I work in the engineering field, and have to wear a hardhat all day. My hair builds up oil, and when I get out of work, I don't want to have greasy hair if we go out to dinner or have a drink. This stuff gets rid of that! Also, I have gotten up late and hadn't had time for a shampoo. This takes your hair from "eew, its greasy" to "pretty good". There's no substitute for the real thing, but this is pretty good! Follow the directions though! Mine doesn't clog, I shake it, like the directions say, and I spray from >30cm away.

For those of you who don't like the scent, its not a perfume! Its a hair product! Spray perfume in your hair or something! Or try the tropical kind.

Enjoy!

Customer Review: value compromises quality
Summary: 1 Stars

I found this product in a local beauty shop and figured I'd give it a try, being that it was a fraction of the cost of the dry-shampoo I normally use. I have been known to be overly scent-sensitive, which certainly could be a factor in this, but as has been mentioned, the smell of this product made it impossible for me to use - I wound up throwing it away after trying to get used to it a few times. it's this weird citrusy/babypowderish combination that is utterly sickening. on top of this, I didn't find the product itself to work all that successfully when compared to other similar products I have used. all in all, I do not recommend the batiste dry shampoo - the price is enticing, but the poor quality ruins any price advantage.

Customer Review: A Must-Have for Emergencies and Lazy Days
Summary: 4 Stars

This dry shampoo works very well and can be a life-saver when you don't have time to wash your
hair . . . or just don't want to.

Pros:
1. Changes greasy hair into clean hair.
2. Doesn't leave hair weighed down.
3. Doesn't leave a residue the way powder can.

Cons:
1. It has a pretty strong smell. The Tropical version is better than the Original, but its smell is still quite distinctive. Think cheap hairspray.
2. It's kinda pricey for what you get. I average about 12 uses per can.

To Use:
Spray into hair from arm's length distance. Wait a couple minutes. Brush out, preferably w/ natural bristle brush.
