The cleanser is soy based and it comes in a container that has a scooped top. You place your beauty blender egg shaped sponge in the scoop and press once or twice while the bottle of cleanser remains sitting on the counter,(no need to turn the bottle over to get the cleansing liquid out)this revelutionary design insures that you only use a small ammount of the cleanser. The soy based cleanser actually breaks down all kinds of different foundations that you may have used with the sponge. I've been known to use the soy based liquid cleanser to clean my brushes as well. Instead of setting the egg in the scoop, I set a circular cleansing pad in the scoop, press once and then use the pad to clean my brushes. I usually let them dry overnight before using them again.
Now onto the sponge.... It leaves foundation looking flawless. You use the sponge with a technique called, dribbling. Apply a small ammount of foundation (it's all you'll need) and then dribble the sponge all over your entire face using a bouncing motion, yet very close to the face. The side of the egg that comes to a rounded point is for areas such as the corners of the nose. While applying your foundation to the corners of the nose with the tip of the sponge- continue using the dribbling technique. I like that you clean the sponge right away after using it because it gets rid of the bacteria left on it from your face. It's a great way to reduce, re-use and recycle. You can use your sponge wet or dry. It swells up to twice its size when it is completely saturated with water. I usually barely wet mine before applying foundation.
You can buy these products seperately, but I would advise buying them as a duo because it's less expensive when you buy them together. I had to buy mine seperately because I was in a hurry to get them after a friend told me all about how great they are. It's the same price on here as it was about a year ago on CherryCulture dot com. I love Amazon, but the shipping can get ridiculous sometimes. You can buy $40 worth of products on CherryCulture and then get free shipping. The only trouble is that they usually sell out of this product fairly fast. So your best bet might just be to buy from here. Especially if they are offering Super Saver Shipping.
I love my Beauty Blender. The cleaser smells like lavender. So yummy!

Sponge:
Bounce Beautyblender against your face when applying make up. Use Beautyblender's pointed side for hard-to-reach spots like around the nose and mouth, and under the eyes. Use the round base for foundation and blush on the larger areas of your face such as your forehead, cheeks and chin.
Use Beautyblender damp when applying wet/dry make up. Wash after use and place in the Beautyblender insert pedestal to dry. You can also put it in the Beautyblender pouch and toss it in the dryer. Be sure to use an air-dry setting; Beautyblender should not come in contact with extreme heat of any kind.
If you have problem skin it works to cover blemishes. Use the pointed end and the stipple and twist technique to work make up into depressed areas of the face. The stippling and twisting action feathers out the makeup's edges, leaving a perfect finish.
Cleanser:
Wet Beautyblender. Apply a dime-sized amount of Blendercleanser to soiled areas of Beautyblender. Work into a lather, rinse, repeat if necessary. Squeeze to remove excess water. Set Beautyblender on insert pedestal to dry.
