I am relatively new to the whole hair ironing thing, and this was the first flat iron I purchased. Before I bought it, I wondered about the placement of the controls, but figured they must have evaluated them before settling on the design of the product. Perhaps not! Both the ON/OFF control and the control for the temperature and ion features are buttons flush with the handle that are operated by applying pressure on them. Those two controls are ALSO in the area of the handle that you grip while using the iron. When using the iron, I found I was inadvertantly applying pressure to the control buttons, and thus constantly unintentionally turning the darn thing off or changing the settings. Not worth the trouble.
