Customer Reviews of Benefit Cosmetics Lemon-AidCustomer Review: Five stars, BUT Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using this stuff for a few weeks, and I love it. I use it on the dark circles under my eyes, which aren't horrible, but have been getting worse over the years. It's great, and it works a lot better than other yellow concealers of this type that I have tried. BUT, you have to be careful not to overdo it, otherwise you will look straight out of 1973, with VERY obvious white-ish circles around your eyes. The point is to look natural. The only thing worse than dark discoloration around the eyes is white stuff that is obviously there to mask the dark stuff. I recommend moisturizing your skin, then applying this lightly, with gentle pats, then using your foundation over it. Perfect results! I can't believe how much more refreshed and rested I look after applying this! Also, for those who found the product very hard and difficult to apply, just rub your finger quickly in a circular motion on the surface of the product. The heat from the friction will soften it up and give you just the right amount on your fingertip. Moisturizing before applying helps the product glide on without any rubbing. I can't stress this enough.
Customer Review: Great on veiny/bluish eye circles Summary: 5 Stars
I hate that the blue veins around my eyes show through even the best, most pigmented concealers I use around them(NARS, Stila, Vincent Longo) so I was looking around at Sephora online for a remedy. I went here to Amazon.com to look at reviews and then ran out to the Benefit counter at Belk to check this stuff out.
Well, yay! We have a winner. I figured out when I got home what the sales rep meant by this being a great primer: it doesn't show through other make-up like foundations and concealers. So, like she said, you can give yourself racoon eyes with this until your undereyes are one solid tone, then cover this with your foundation, concealer or whatever cover-up you like to use and no one will know your eye area isn't naturally perfect-looking or that you don't just use make-up to dress up your naturally beautiful features ;o) I don't think Boi-ing concealer by Benefit will make a difference to the blue-ish tones, although it's probably a great blemish concealer. So I recommend buying Lemon-Aid for this type of problem(blue or violet tone flaws) and just use whatever matches your skin-tone to go on top.
Customer Review: Great idea but migrates into my crease! Summary: 4 Stars
This product is a great idea. I am sure it could also be used as an eyeshadow primer as well. After my purchase I experimented with only applying a tiny amount and patting it allover the eyelids not leaving a thick layer of product. Yes even after a long day I found that a tiny amount had migrated into my eyelid crease and forced me to re-blend and get rid of that little yellow line of lemon-aid! YES it delivers as promised and covers red blotchy eyelids if you are a more natural gal and you dont ever have to worry about your eyelids appearing yellow at all. I have even tried it as a blemish concealer on those bright red pesky things which randomly appears on my face. This product is a firmer creamy product like a cake but when you dip your filangies into this stuff will become creamier, and not oily at all and NOR does it dry to a powder finish. So this product has multiple uses but four stars because even the smallest amount migrated into the crease. And I dont even have oily skin, did anyone else have this problem?
Customer Review: Benefit Cosmetics Lemon-Aid Summary: 5 Stars
I am 46 and have mature/menopausal skin. I have a yellow undertone that is in the medium range. I bought this product because I wanted an eye base and a primer in one. Not sure about the primer part but it is excellent as a base. It is yellow which neutralizes color thus when you wear it, color will be truer on your eyes. I use this product on my face also. I have a few broken capillaries around the nose ,a bit of redness on the cheeks and I also use it on my lips to get the color neutralized for lipstick. I use it on my eyes and on the little dark area between and on top of the nose. It does work well on dark areas under the eye BUT you have to be sparing with this product. A little goes a long way.Too much and it will be too yellow. Pat on do not rub on. If you have a eye concealer brush, that would work best. Over all. I love this product and I would purchase again. .
Customer Review: it's perfect for the upper lid Summary: 5 Stars
Once recently I ran out of the house without any makeup on. A few people asked if I had gotten enough sleep or if I was coming down with something. When I got a chance, I ducked into a corner and just put some lemon aid on my upper lids. A little while later, someone complimented me on how nice I looked that day! The only other change I made was putting a little powder on my nose. Apparently, this was enough.
Yes, you do have to rub it in a little, but when it's there, it stays. No, it doesn't really work on the undereye -- but that's not what it's for. It just makes you look wide-eyed and awake. Plus, it has a nice little mirror that is so convenient for quick application on your way somewhere. It lasts for months and months. If you can't actually get any sleep, well -- try some lemon aid. It has made me loyal to benefit.
