I had the original (20 yrs ago?) Braun cordless & LOVED it! A little hot for my babyfine hair but curled it in a snap & I could get hella use out of one cartridge. I purchased the Independent after the striker finally gave out on my older one and it performs as the other did - however I can only get one use out of a cartridge! It is the craziest thing. as I said, with babyfine hair I don't need the iron on more then 10 minutes & so i go thru cartidges like toilet paper. Looking to see if it is worth picking up a new or different one but it sounds like they are discontinued?! guess I better stock up since I LOVE the convienence!!
