Customer Review: Exactly like the iron purchased at hair salon, only cheaper

I purchased this pricy ceramic hair straightener for my teenage daughter at our regular hair salon before she went away to college. A week later, she placed a frantic call to me. The iron had been left in the open dorm window (why?) and then a visitor had closed the window, smashing the iron. At least, that was the story. It was an accident of monumental proportions for my daughter, who despaired of attending class with frizzy hair. I searched in Amazon, and found the exact same ceramic straightener, but for significantly less money. About thirty dollars less, even with shipping. I had it sent to my daughter's dorm. Crisis averted.
I don't straighten my hair, but for those who do, I understand that this particular ceramic hair straightener is a top model. It certainly makes my daughter happy. And it was recommended by her regular hair stylist. I don't begrudge any small business trying to make a profit in this economy. But when I can get the exact same product for so much less money (and for a replacement), I think that I need to think about my economic needs also.
This is an excellent straightener at a very good price (compared with what you will pay at your hair salon for the same product.)

The shipment arrived very quickly! And as soon as it arrived the CHI was put to use and I have to say I was completely satisfied with the results! This Iron which comes with pre-heated settings which takes the trouble of possibly damaging your hair by burning which sometimes happens if you adjust the heat settings too high on a self-adjusted iron. Thanks to this handy little setting, daily use of this iron won't damage your hair as other irons seem to do with excessive use. Due to it's size (I purchased the 1in Iron) it can take a while to straighten your hair if you have long hair like me, but due to its size it's actually the perfect tool for doing the top of your head which can be impossible to do or even reach if you're using wide-plates. It leaves your hair feeling soft and warm which is perfect for the winter months and it also leaves it natural looking as if you had gone to a salon to get your hair blow-dried. I must admit it does not leave your hair sleek and dead straight, so if this is the effect and style you were going for you may actually want to look into Remington styling products instead. However, I am a very satisfied customer and I can see myself possibly making another CHI purchase sometime in the future!Customer Review: My Chi has lasted 8 years and is still going!

My mom bought this for me when I was in college, and I have been using it since then. It's been more than 8 years, and it's still going strong with no end in sight. I can't believe it's lasting this long with the amount of use it's had! Its quality is unmatched. I've tried other irons that my friends own, and nothing compares.
It does get very hot, so I make sure to keep it out of reach of my children. This is good, though, because it has enough heat to do the job quickly and effectively. It heats up quickly, which is a definite plus. At first I was worried that the heat might damage my hair, but that hasn't happened. I take it on trips (in my carry on so I'm never without it!) and unpack it as the first thing when I get home so it will be good to go when I need it.
My mom has one, and so does my sister. Both have lasted as long as mine. I will definitely buy another one of these when (or IF!) mine ever bites the dust.

I've been using a Chi iron for 5 years now and I must admit that they get the job done. My problem is that I live in Florida and the weather... well it's not the best weather for straight hair, especially if you're naturally curly. I lost my Chi iron a couple of months ago (the one I've had for years) so I decided to get the same one. We all know they are super expensive, so when I saw the cheap prices of $65 and so on I decided to buy it here. I got it within a couple of days from the day of purchase and it worked wonders... the first two months. I was straightening my hair for a date with my boyfriend when all of a sudden it TURNED OFF!! I figured it had over heated or something so I let it cool down. Nothing. My iron hasn't worked ever since and I have it sitting in my room,completely new, and useless!! I tried to contact the seller but he/she couldn't do anything about it. My recommendation: Make sure it has warranty!!! :PCustomer Review: very disappointed

I ordered this product in Sept. as a Christmas present for my daughter. Her boyfriend bought her one for her birthday without asking if she already had one. I sent an e-mail to the seller to find out about a return policy the beginning of December, I never heard anything back from him which upset me but what was I to do. I went ahead and gave her the gift and she resold it on Amazon. She found out tonight from her buyer that this product was defective. So now we are out the money I originally paid for it, the money she refunded him and the money I paid her to replace the amount she was out. I am very disappointed with this seller and will not buy from him again.
