I bought this item about 3 years ago. It is the perfect straightener. The price is a little high but it does what i says it will do, except in the description where it says it curls. It heats up very quickly and it really durable. I use it almost every day and it works perfectly. It doesn't damage my hair like most straighteners do. I don't know what people are talking about. The item doesn't break easily. They must have been throwing it around or not taking good care of it. This hair straightener is the best I've ever used! A good friend had one and used it on my hair - it makes it soo straight so fast - plus it doesn't dry it out. It's so shiny! This is def. a must have for working girls with short hair who are on the go - I can straighten my spikey, unruly hair in less than 5 minutes with this straightener. The velvet on the top is nice for when I'm in a hurry and don't want to burn my fingers. The cord won't tangle up either - all around - GREAT buy! VERY happy. Would buy it all over again.

The chi is an amazing straightener. I live in humid Florida, and this straightener gets my curly hair pin straight and it stays straight until I wash it. Unfortunatly, my first one just stopped working and farouk refused to take it back because "Amazon in not an authorized dealer so your warranty is void". Luckily, Amazon replaced my straighter at no charge and I didn't even have to pay for shipping. This is a great straightener and its worth its weight in gold (when it works), but at $120 dollars you are taking an expensive risk.Customer Review: Awesome flat iron

For the last couple of years, I've used a cheap 2" Vidal Sassoon flat iron and finally broke down and bought this 1" Chi (I bought the 1" vs the 2" based on customer reviews) because the plates on my old one were getting nasty and my hair started to feel brittle after using it. I just used the Chi for the first time and LOVE IT. I am just mad I didn't spend the money months ago! My hair is shinier, smoother and straighter than I could ever get it with the Vidal Sassoon model, all in a fraction of the time. Well worth the expense.Customer Review: Worth the money

This is my second CHI flat iron. The first one I purchased from a salon probably 10 years ago & actually gave it to my niece who is still using it. This one is a bit hotter, the contoured handle makes it easier to maneuver & the swivel cord is great. I have thick, coarse long hair which MUST be flat ironed. Fortunately I can get away with washing it two - three times a week otherwise I think I would have to cut it off. If you've tried other flat irons in the past & have been discouraged I would certainly recommend this one.
