I've gone through loads of irons over the years. From cheap to not so cheap. I thought I loved my Wigo which was about $80 at Ulta, but after my stylist used the Chi - I decided to suck it up and buy it because my hair came out so good and I have an incredible problem with frizz and it stayed so nice for 2 days. Here in GA it gets humid..so this was the deciding factor for me. My hair comes out so smooth and bone straight. I have naturally fine curly hair and this totally does the trick with one maybe two swipes on my hair. With my Wigo, by the afternoon, my hair would start to puff and start to frizz. This keeps it nice all day long. I'd probably give it 5 stars, but I think it needs an automatic shutoff after at least an hour.Customer Review: Good but dangerous

I used this product for about a week and it worked great. However, one day it overheated and burned a section of my hair. I unplugged it and after closer inspection, found that it was melting itself where the ceramic hot plat section touched the plastic. The ceramic part o f it was actually begining to stick out and away from it's base. Sadly, my hair is fried and it will stay that way till it grows out. I would not recommend having the unit on for an extended period. Just use it fast and shut it off. I got a replacement and so far it seems to be fine. As a straightner its is really good, but if you want to do fancy flips or shapes then be aware of how long it is on. Then again, the one I had could have been just a bad one.Customer Review: Worth the money

This product works great and is definately worth the money. I've tried numerous flat irons and they damage your hair and you still don't get the results you want. My hair would frizz by the time I got to work and it looked like I never flat ironed it to begin with also, I would find numerous strands of hair in the sink. Using Chi has minimized the amount of hair breakage and my ends dont feel damaged, my hair stays straight with no frizz throughout the day. I also use Chi silk infusion to protect my hair from the heat. This straightener also works really fast. I don't have to keep going over it to get my hair straight. My only complaint is that I didn't purchase this product when my hairstylist first recommended it.Customer Review: The Best Flat Iron on the Market

I always had a horrible time trying to straighten my hair using the flat irons on the market. I didn't learn about the Chi iron until I went into a salon to get me hair professionally straightened out. I paid full retail price for it and have never looked back! I have had this iron for over 2 years and it's still going strong. I have super thick Spaniard curly horse hair. It looks obvious when I've flattened it in the past and has taken anywhere from 1 hour to 1 1/2 to straighten. With the Chi it only takes 25 - 30 minutes and it gives me a natural look. Colleagues have no idea that my hair isn't naturally straight unless I tell them or show them my curls! I am never going back, this product rocks!Customer Review: Works great when it works

My wife purchased one of these to use at home , she was so happy with the results from it she bought one for my daughter , after about 9 months both of them starting having problems not heating up. I took both of them apart and the power cords were bad ,To a handy-man this might not sound like a big deal but it is, The cords are special and you can not purchase them separately , I have called several places and Looked on the internet and no body sells them ,You can send the unit in for repair but with the repair cost and shipping you will pay over $40 minimum to replace the cord, While looking on the internet for a cord ,I found a lot of people complaining about the cords going bad so quickly.
