Customer Review: SOFT CURLY HAIR!

My hair came out SILKY SOFT after I curled it with these curlers. In comparison, I have some electronic hot rollers and my hair comes out a bit charred. ;) I didn't even realize my hair was getting fried so much until I had the comparison to Caruso and had SOFT SILKY hair.
My hair is already pretty soft naturally. So for my hair to be crispy with electric rollers/curling iron and then to compare them to Caruso SOFT hair??? CARUSO showed me that it's possible to HAVE silky soft hair!!!! Let me say that again-- CARUSO SHOWED ME that it's possible to have silky soft curly hair. I mean really?!?!
It does take awhile getting used to putting one foam curler at a time on the steam machine. And then the transition of the curler to hair, curler cap to the steam, then hold the foam curler as the cap gets heated, then put cap on curler--- yeah. That takes awhile to get used to but for silky soft seriously amazing hair? And the avoidance of split ends?? I think it's worth it.
Because my hair is so fine, it damages SUPER quickly from blow drying, curling irons, and hot rollers. I am looking forward to amazing looking hair without the split ends. Before I wouldn't be able to grow my hair out quickly because of my need to cut the ends off all the time due to styling everyday and therefore MAJOR split ends. Caruso has helped me see that I could actually grow my hair out (shoulder length to mid back is my goal) while still styling it every day because I won't be damaging INCHES of hair as it grows. HEALTHY HAIR, HERE I COME!!!!!!!! *EXCITED!!* =D
Also the curls you get from Caruso stay in better and longer than electric hot rollers or a curling iron. This is comparatively WITHOUT any hair product to help the styling tools. Caruso, gives a sweet cute little curl. I feel so delicate and pretty afterward with my hair.
To note, when you take your hair out of Caruso curlers, you will have a line where the curling cap laid on your hair. I combed my hands through hair but it was still there. So I just used my blow dryer to shake my hair out and the lines disappeared! wonderful. I also chose to style my bangs with a blow dryer bc i didn't like how Caruso curls looked on them. But that's not a problem for me.
My hair holds curl REALLY well so I can't speak for those with flat fine hair with difficulty to curl your hair. But I can speak about fine hair that gets easily charred.
Caruso will leave your hair SILKY, SHINY, SERIOUSLY SOFT and leaving you feeling beautiful! Sweet curls? I felt like a beauty today. ;)

I was suspicious when I found this product for $30 at a beauty supply place. That seemed kind of low for 30 heated rollers. I got even more suspicious when I found out that they were "just" sponge rollers and had to be "heated" one at a time.
I gave it a try anyway, since I haven't had much luck with conventional dry hot rollers. This unit shoots hot steam through each roller, which takes only a few seconds apiece, so you heat them as you go. You can also steam-heat the clips (they call them "shields") so the hair on the roller gets heated from both sides. Then you can just let them cool off on their own, or help them along with a hair dryer.
I still had my doubts about this product since the rollers, when steamed, didn't seem very hot (compared to regular dry hot rollers). But the sponge rollers grabbed my hair well and the "shields" kept them from unwinding or falling out, which was already a big plus over other hot rollers.
To my surprise, the curls really did take. In fact, they were curlier than I had intended. It may take some practice to get the results I need, but it looks very promising.
Some of the rollers looked squashed when I took them out, because I had wound the hair around them so tightly (habit). I was afraid I had ruined them. I put them back on the steaming unit, and they returned to normal within seconds!
The curls were still there when I woke up this morning. That was a real shock. I have ultra-straight, ultra-fine hair. I have trouble getting even the best hot rollers to stay in, if I can get my hair to roll around them in the first place. The resulting "curls" are but a distant memory by the end of the day. But not these curls. I slept on them, and didn't even spray them, and they were still there the next day. I was sad that I had to wash them out (I wasn't very careful putting them in last night since I was just testing them, so I didn't have any sort of presentable hairstyle).
This unit should travel well, since the steaming unit is small, a little bigger than a memo cube. It comes with five different sizes of rollers, and there's a mail-order form where you can get more rollers in any size if you need them - they're pretty cheap.

I just received these a week or so ago and have used them several times. So far---I'm totally taken with this system!
Lately, my hair has gotten so frizzy, thin and damaged by constant lightening/coloring, illness and hormone fluctuations that it felt like straw and has been falling out more than I care to admit. That said, I've been very cautious about how I treat and style my hair. Of course, due to the health of it, my hair has also been more DIFFICULT to style--a vicious cycle, as some of you know. I have tried all sorts of curling irons, hot brushes, rollers, etc. They either didn't work or just made my hair more damaged by the day.
Finally, I decided to get these Caruso rollers. The results have been AMAZING! For the first time in ages, my hair feels soft, pliable, and takes curl MUCH better. The curls last several days. The steam seems to be actually improving the condition of my hair! That, alone, is worth the cost of the product. Also, it feels softer and more manageable even after I wash it. My hair is shiny and looks professionally styled each day now. People have suddenly started complimenting me constantly about what gorgeous hair I have! To have gone from frizzy straw to that in literally a week is nothing short of a miracle!
I will just say that it's important to not heat up each roller for more than 5 seconds or so. I like that they are not even hot to the touch this way. I was really skeptical about whether they would work, but they do! Also, I DO steam the shields (aka roller holders), as the instruction manual states. I haven't tried using the rollers without steaming the shields as well because I'm sticking with what works for now. I also use distilled water only. Additionally, I empty the water when I'm done and shake out any extra water left in the unit, so it doesn't sit wet when not in use (as I suspect this might contribute to its failure to work down the road--as some people have noted).
All in all, I definitely recommend this product to anyone who has damaged hair and wants to restore its health, shine and body!

This is day two of the Caruso system and I am happy I ran out to buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply yesterday. So, I have to tel you my journey. I am a African-American woman who has always had decent hair until a few years ago when I decided to abandon my "old-timey" way of doing my hair. Which meant out with the roller setting after washing and in with the blow drying and curling iron/flat iron route. Of course my previous shoulder-length hair is now 5 inches shorter and is looking dry and frizzy and beat up looking. So in efforts to cure that, I went the route of extensions and such. Bad move again. This week I decided enough was enough. Back to the basics of "low impact" haircare. I don't like to sleep on rollers so I decided to purchase this set because of all of the rave reviews. I had used regular hot rollers but was not real happy with the look 2 -3 hours later after the curls had fallen. (And they were hot!!!) Day one of using the Caruso system, my hair was bouncy and beautiful. Day two, I learned a little from day one in how to put them in and today I feel like a movie star. I used the jumbo rollers to create soft curls and waves. I tried the system both ways, in that I heated the roller and the shield on half my head and just the roller on the other half this morning. I can see how the heated shield could make a longer lasting curl, but it took too long for my hair to dry that way. I ended up having to blow dry the rollers dry, not a bad idea, just an extra step I would take when going somewhere special. Also,try experimenting with how long to keep the roller on the unit. That can change your drying time also. My husband tells me I look sexy and beautiful and to be honest, it takes the same amount of time it used to take for me flat iron my hair everyday. I am 36 years old and I know for a lot younger women the idea of hot rollers makes them feel like they are going to end up looking like their grandma, but I can say that with a little practice you can make the hairstyles you see everyday on people without the damage to your hair. I was extremely skeptical at first, only ever having used typical sets of old fashioned steam rollers... I had an old set that lasted me for years that I regretted departing with for a very long time. My hair is very fine and short to perhaps medium length and sometimes almost runs into long...
I was shopping on Amazon and also on "folica.com" as per my sisters recommendation.
I found a set of rollers I thought I could be happy with, a regular, traditional type of rollers... and was nearly ready to order them, but wanted to check out the competition! Really glad I did!
At first I thought... what are these? But the positive reviews on both websites was difficult to ignore.
I ordered these based on the positive reviews, but also took note of more recent reviews that these rollers (in their most recent redesign with cheaper materials, apparently) don't last very long... Please take note... I checked, these rollers are warranted for a whole year and I will be taking advantage of that if they happen to be short lived!
With that said, I could not be happier with the results of these rollers. I tracked the package via Amazon and saw that my package had arrived around 1:30 pm on Friday afternoon at my local post office. I was so eager to get these rollers I went to pick them up directly, knowing my mail carrier would otherwise deliver them the next day. I did not want to wait!
I tried them out tonight!
WOW!!!
They work! Just for fun I rolled my hair in tight, tight curls this evening... just to see how this would hold up!!! WHOA!!! Tight curs it is!!! Had a blast experimenting! Seeing how the curls are holding up tonight... I am very confident! I didn't even use hair spray as I usually do to maintain the curl! But I still can if I choose to do so, and the hairspray, as all other options, still remain.
These rollers are just exactly what I had hoped for! Can HIGHLY recommend!!!
