Customer Reviews of Caruso C97953 SalonPro 30 Molecular Steam Hairsetter with 30 RollersCustomer Review: Curlers that finally works Summary: 4 Stars
I'm a harsh critic of hot rollers because I have fine, straight hair, but I regularly want curls. I've tried at least three different brands (Conair, Remington, and some off-brand from Sally Beauty Supply) of hot rollers in the past 5 years, and Caruso lives up to its claim that the curls will last for days. Previously, I was so desperate to have round, bouncy curls hold that I even went so far as to have my hair permed to give me just enough kink in my hair that curls would stay after using hot rollers.
If the weather is humid, the curls will only hold for the duration of the day. After sleeping on them, I end up with waves the next day. I can deal with this. The steam on the sponges doesn't burn my fingers like the metal on other brands of curlers. If the humidity is low, and I've used enough product, the curls I've created with the Caruso stay and look great.
I've not run into any problems with the steamer as of yet, but I've heard running a vinegar-water solution through it often helps clear up any issues.
Customer Review: Just ok Summary: 3 Stars
I bought the steam rollers to try to get away from frying my hair with "iron" products.
They do keep my hair soft and healthy looking.
Even though you have to do one curler at a time, it only takes seconds for the curler to heat up. So that is not a problem.
However the curls do not last more than a couple of hours. And that is indoors.
Outdoors, if there is wind or any humidity...curls are gone almost instantly.
The new model also shows 6 large and 6 jumbo rollers.
But they are combining those rollers --calling them large/jumbo
So you are going to get 12 very large rollers. These are all set to be put on Ebay, as I cannot use that many jumbo rollers.
(This will be a good thing for someone with very long hair)
I am going to now invest in an expensive styling mousse, to try to get these curls to hold better.
Wish I had the great experience with this roller system as some of you have had.
Customer Review: AWESOME!!! I have long very thick hair and this system works great!!! Summary: 5 Stars
After reading the reviews on here I just had to go out and buy one. I was worried about the negative reviews where someone said people with thick hair should not even bother to buy this because it wouldn't curl well, or hold the curl. They don't know what they are talking about!
I have long hair (mid back) and it's very thick. I have bought several curling irons, most with a very high heat setting (around 420), and as soon as I finish one side of my hair and start on the other side, my curled side has gone flat:( (so I returned my curling iron and exchanged it for the steam rollers). Man I am so glad I did! My hair is super curly! I also have long layers in my hair and it looks so good!
I am so glad I finally found something that will curl my hair without damaging it. I bought mine from Sally's Beauty Supply, and they also sell the large steam rollers by themselves because the box comes with mixed sizes, so I do plan on going to buy some extra rollers because I like the bigger ones better.
Customer Review: Great Hair Styling Aid Summary: 4 Stars
I was looking for a solution to add body to my fine, limp hair that would be less damaging than the flat iron I have been using. My hair has gotten longer and it has become somewhat unwieldly to pull it all through the flat iron. These rollers came highly recommended on Amazon and they live up to the hype. The steam is gentle yet very effective for styling the hair quickly. The rollers are very comfortable to wear while you are waiting for them to cool down. It's a nice system, more compact than typical roller sets, and they provide a carrying bag with your order and enough rollers for you to achieve any kind of style/curl tightness you need. You can use regular tap water - no need to bother with distilled. The only thing I have a tough time with - and this is probably just a lack of aptitude on my part - is getting my ends cleanly curled. In the past I have used those rollers with the brown velvety surfaces, which seemed to better manage the end curls. Hopefully my technique will improve over time.
Customer Review: Finally have the curls and volume I've been longing for! Summary: 5 Stars
Allow me to preface this by saying that I usually do not review anything unless I feel VERY strongly about the product, whether it be positive or negative. I have long, very straight hair and I've tried just about every single hairsetter and curling mechanism in existence. With normal heat rollers, I start the day with curls but end up with a ratty hairsprayed mess. Caruso's steam hairsetter is arguably the most amazing hair tool that I have EVER used! I was certainly skeptical when I purchased it, but it heats immediately and takes hardly any time at all to use. It is also extremely compact and easy to travel with! The best part- the curls and volume stay ALL DAY!! I'm so glad I took the chance on Caruso and I will never roll my hair with regular heat rollers again. A quick tip to try that I've found for girls with long hair: put the largest rollers on the top and the smaller rollers underneath- it gives even more volume that way. I highly recommend these to anyone with any length/texture hair.
