I purchased this in late 80's-early 90s' and love it...used to use it in the salon since the curls last SO muich longer than an iron,or heated rollers...Mine just died a few months ago ((( yes, it lasted that long with pretty regular to heavy use))). I just replaced mine with this one and could NOT be happier. This new model doesn't require salt to be added to the water. It is so fast to set my hair, it always turns out beautiful, and the curls last all day & night. I always get tons of compliments whenever I use my caruso curler and I am so happy with this purchase! I DO recommend it regularly, and will be purchasing a 2nd soon for a gift. Flat irons,curling irons,blow dryers,etc all dry out hair so badly....this is working only on steam & actually makes my hair so soft & shiny. I first tried Caruso rollers when it was required to put salt in the unit, and I remember the curls lasting much longer with that set. I have long, fine hair that doesn't hold curls very well, but I had high hopes that Caruso rollers would still give me curls that lasted until I washed my hair again. No such luck. The curls start out absolutely gorgeous, but by lunchtime, my hair has fallen and only the ends remained curled. I've tried using gel, mousse, and spray....no improvement. I've tried using the hairdryer and then using the cool blast......no improvement. I don't find that it is inconvenient to heat the rollers individually, and have no problems with the rollers staying in my hair. Wish these worked for my fine hair, but since nothing really gives me volume and lasting curls, I'm not really too disappointed or surprised.Customer Review: Curly haired girl

My hair is straight and nothing I did would keep the curl in for very long. I've used regular sponge curlers, hot curlers, and a curling iron. Where I live is humid and the curl would disappear within the first 30 minutes after using these other methods. My daughter bought the Caruso steam curlers as a Christmas gift. It was the best gift I receieved. I love these curlers and the machine! It takes up very little space on my counter. Every time I use it my curls stay in all day long and into the night. When I wake up the next morning, my hair still has some of the curl left. This machine is amazing! I don't know how this works.....but it works. I'm happy and my husband is happy. He loves me with curly hair. If you want curls in your hair, then I highly recommend you buy this product. You will not be sorry.Customer Review: LOVE these rollers!

I absolutely LOVE these rollers!
I have very long, thick hair and have always had issues curling my hair and having the curls last more than 30 minutes! I would spend an hour trying to curling my hair, only to have the curls go straight shortly after.
The day I got them, I immediately had to try them out. I rolled a few rollers in my hair and let it set for 15-20 minutes. When I took the first roller out, I was completely amazed! My hair had a super-curl-bounce!
They're so easy to use & it only takes me about 20 minutes to roll all of my hair up. While I let them set, I can do my makeup and other things.
These rollers are the best thing I have ever used on my hair for curls. I was so skeptical about them, but I wish I had bought these sooner!

I had the original Caruso steam roller set back in the early 90's when it first came out. This was the one you had to use with salt. Everyone loved my hair when I used the curlers back then. I guess the novelty wore off and I stopped using it after the flat iron became the new "it" product. Well, I went out and bought the new version that you use w/out the salt. I still love it. My hair is soft and bouncy. The curls last a few days. This is great because I don't have to use my flat iron every day to style my hair. I plan on using the rollers as often as possible to minimize damage. P.S. I'm African-American with chemically relaxed hair that is pretty long and I wash my hair 3 times a week. Before I use the rollers, I wash and wrap my hair and dry with a hooded dryer. Hope this help-Cheers!
