Customer Reviews of Cationic Hydration 44 Iron Guard - Thermal Protection Spray (8.5 oz)Customer Review: Really does make a difference Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product after doing tons of research on flat irons. I was so paranoid that I would end up damaging my hair, but loved the look that a flat iron achieved on my short, prone to random waviness, locks. I've used the thermal guard almost every time I use the flat iron and my hair is in fantastic condition. Granted, I do let it go au natural on the weekends and whenever possible, but still end up flat ironing at least three to four times a week. On the days I don't use the thermal guard, I notice that my hair seems frizzier and doesn't have the healthy bounce that usually accompanies heat styling. While this product will never replace my beloved though discontinued Thermasilk Heat Guard, due to its sticky texture that really only makes it suitable for direct heat applications, its day-to-day performance ranks it as one of my styling "Must Haves." The only detractor...and it's a personal one...is the smell. Others rave about its scent, but I'm put off by the strong aroma of men's cologne or aftershave that this product has. As such, I always make sure to style my hair early in my morning routine so as to allow it to dissipate some before applying my own feminine perfume.
Customer Review: The BEST Product for thermal protection Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far the best thing I could possibly buy for my hair. I have naturally curly hair and have been straightening it for years. I got a new straightener about 2 years ago. In order to get the kinks out of my hair I used a higher setting. However, this made my hair break very badly. I asked my stylist and she reccommended this product. I tried it and found that it worked very nicely. The breakage stopped and after a year, I've finally grown the broken ends out. I ran out of the bottle that I bought about 2 months ago(yes, a little goes a LONG way) and figured I'd try to save some money by buying a Tresamme thermal protection product because it was cheaper. BAD idea! I'm seeing some breakage again! So, I just bought this product again, but from Amazon. It's a better price than a salon and I got the Silk Fusion (which I also LOVE)for a discount when I bought them together. Some may not like the smell, but I do - it reminds me of my hubby! :) This is the best thing I could ever do for my hair.
Customer Review: Love, Love, Love this product!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product with gusto because ever since my daughter's friend straightened her hair to perfection, she has been asking me for this product! I saw the results and I knew I wanted to buy this product for my daughter. So when we saw it on Amazon.com, we had to get it, and I am so glad we did! We also bought a styler that makes spiral curls and I decided to try this product with the spiral curl maker...perfection! I used the spiral curler with and once without the Chi heat protector. Both times worked really well, but the curls were tighter with the Chi than without. Another bit of info is that the Chi heat protector resulted in a noticeable amount of added shine to her hair as well. I cannot stress enough how pleased we are with this product! FYI: the seller packed this product and the Chi strengther spray very carefully! I was very pleased with the quality of the box they were shipped in and the size of the box to make sure that my "precious cargo" arrived unscathed! Enjoy!
Customer Review: Iron Guard - Dry Your Hair Before Flat-Ironing Summary: 5 Stars
Spray the Iron Guard on your hair, then dry your hair thoroughly before using the flat iron! I bought the Iron Guard and CHI Flat Iron on the same day (2 days ago). On the first day, I sprayed the Iron Guard on, and attempted to use the flat iron immediately on wet hair. Results were not good - as my hair smelled burnt all day. The second day, I sprayed it on my hair, then dried my hair thoroughly. Then I brushed my hair to detangle, and used the flat iron. Results were great, as there was no burnt smell. The Iron Guard is a sticky product, and even when it's dry, there is a residue on your hair and that transfers onto your hands when you're doing your hair. But every hair get/mousse/paste is like that, isn't it? My hair is looking really cute today, and I like the feeling that I'm protecting my hair by spraying this stuff on.
Customer Review: Chi 44 Iron Guard Summary: 1 Stars
I used this product last night just before using my Chi. It feels almost like hairspray and it's REALLY sticky, and it took me over an hour to flatiron my hair! Granted, I have a lot of hair, but I'm also a mom and don't have that kind of time just to play with my hair. And after all that work by the end of the night, my hair was frizzy and kinking up all over the place. I didn't want to give up on my VERY expensive Chi products purchased with birthday money just yet, so I used Straight Guard on my hair today before flatironing it in sections. It's much better than the Iron Guard, and it only took me ten minutes to straighten my hair again. I was amazed that just a little bit goes a long way. So if you want something that can minimize primping time and make your hair smooth and shiny, go with the Straight Guard.
