I am an african american teenager and i love straight hair. I cant begin to tell anyone how many flat irons i have had before this on but it is the best. I have had flat irons from conair, revlon, andis and they all seem to chip and burn up when you use the hottest setting. Finally I got discouraged and bought this one thinking that I would be disappointed yet again but that didnt happen. Because my hair needs protection and takes a little added heat this flat iron did wonders. I swear you could use this flat iron on the nappiest hair and still your hair would stay straight and that is not lie. This hair product is for everyone especially african american women who are looking for a flat iron that wont burn their hair and create excellent results. This flat iron works best if you don't have long, thick hair--it's just takes longer for you to get through everything. However, the outcome is great. It does its job. The one problem I have with this flat iron is when I tried to curl my hair with it, the velvet part of the iron (the covering of the ends) melted off. I guess I should have realized something like that would happen, but it just didn't occur to me. Also with the curling part, it's harder if you have long thick hair. But if you have fine hair, even if its long, it works fine. The curls stays curled for a couple of hours. The odd part of the iron is the on and off button. It's set inside of the tongs so if you're not paying attention to what you're doing, you might actually burn yourself.Customer Review: Best flat iron ever!

If you are looking for straight hair in little time then this is the tool for you! I just got it today. I had straightened my hair before getting it today and my hair was still frizzy and stuff. I plugged this in and tried it. It was amazaing. And even with it being windy out today my hair still looks as great as when I did it this morning. I have thick and curly hair and this makes my hair straight and shinny. I use the highest setting to make my hair straight and it is very hot. Compared to other flat irons that I have had this is the best one. I bought on at Walmart for $20 and it does nothing for my hair. This is a professional flat iron and my friend sells them for $65. This is a bargen if you are looking for one. And to have amazing hair!Customer Review: Effective but dangerous.

The main issues I have with this iron is that it gets incredibly hot on the outside felt area (near the ceramic tongs), and that in combination with the problem that the hand clamp (when used as intended, with your hands on the half of the iron near the cord) does not entirely depress the tips of the ceramic iron together means you have to clamp down further up on the iron (using the felt area) in order to get it to properly depress all the way. Since the iron is poor at keeping the heat only in the ceramic iron part of the tool, you're probably going to be getting your hand burnt if you really want to use this tool effectively.
To me that is a fundamental failure in the design of this iron and I can't recommend it at any price.

I have been using this beauty for over 5 years now. It is by far the best priced iron and performs top quality. If this iron was and American Idol, it would be Clay Aiken and the Chi would be Ruben. I have curly hair and this iron make my locks shimmer and seem as if though they have been rain upon with orient drops of silk. I have used this iron on several of my friends with many different hair types and they too compare it to the Chi. Let me tell you the look on their faces when i tell them they can get it for under $20. This iron heats up quickly hot hot hot like the fiery pit of Hades. It glieds through my hair and leaves it looking so healty. This is a must have and with the price being so low, buy two and leave one at work!!!
