I got this straightener a year and a month ago and it was amazing! Before it broke of course. I got it two Christmases ago and it worked GREAT from the moment I used it. My hair stayed straight and perfect through the whole day and it took a few minutes to heat up, but not a half hour like my old straightener thankfully! One morning when I was using it the handle suddenly snapped. It wasn't like I was playing baseball with this thing, just straightening my hair. That was okay, I just used an oven mitt to hold it down on my hair. Now, about a month or two later, it won't heat up at all. It was nice while it lasted. I'll go out and buy something that hopefully last longer.Customer Review: LOVE IT!!!

OMG!!
I've been using this flat iron for over a year now, and it still works like a charm! And for the price??? Amazing :)
I wash my hair as usual and apply a product from "Bed Head" to protect my hair from the heat of the blow dryer and the iron. Blowdry my hair dry and then use the flat iron to give my hair a beautiful, straight and shiny finish. I have very thick, coarse hair and it's always been really difficult to find an iron that works well and doesn't damage my hair too much. Lets be honest, heat isn't the best thing for your hair :) And I staighten my hair on average twice a week and it looks great.
Would highly recommend it to anyone!

Amazing product-- I've tried using straighteners before, and it either took forever, or they were too difficult to use on my hair (which is very thick). This straightener feels substantial, but is still easy to use (the metal plates always somehow manage to lay flat against each other, straightening a lot of hair in each stroke), and my hair comes out stick-straight after just one stroke. It now takes 5 minutes in the morning to straighten my hair, and it's a heck of a lot easier than I ever believed it would be.
GREAT product- works perfectly, made with good quality, and will hardly put a dent in your wallet. Will recommend this to everyone I know!

So, here's my story. I have bought the Conair hair straigtener/crimper/waver one before last year. I used the crimper and waver and they were pretty useful but I hate when my hair is frizzy and awful. I used the straigtener and it gave me bad results. I have thin hair by the way, and last Christmas, my aunt gave me a Wigo flat iron. That flat iron worked pretty well but now it's like 6 months old and it stopped working. Then the other day, I was telling my mom to buy me a new one and she did and she bought this Conair flat iron in a store.. It's actually really good.. no frizzes... sleek hair... shiny hair... I bought this straightener after one of my friends straightened my hair backstage at a play. I really liked the way it looked and how managable it was, so I decided to buy one of my own.
I have thick, wavy hair, and this straightener worked great for it. It heated up fast, stayed hot, and straightened quick. My hair would actually stay mostly straight for a couple days, and would only go back to being really wavyish after I washed it.
Unfortunately, after a couple years of use, it started smoking for no reason I can discern, and I don't feel comfortable using it anymore, so now I'm in the market for a new one. I absolutely recommend it.
