So I ordered this radio to help wake me up in the mornings. I really didn't want to spend $50+ on other radios, and this fit the bill. For $9.99, I figured what the heck.
The radio came in pretty basic clear plastic packaging like you'd see on a store rack, and looked exactly as pictured. I popped the not included 4 AAA batteries in (side note: battery door was difficult to open, but I guess it has to be in order to be waterproof!), and went showering.
Upon testing it, these pros and cons arose:
Pros: Volume is more than loud enough, even when the dial is set low. The construction appears sturdy enough for $10 (and waterproof!), but I wouldn't drop it. Great reception (although I am in the third floor of my house, which is on a hill).
Cons: Opening for hanger is only about an inch or so wide, so you'll want to check your shower rod, I had to hang mine off the shower head (not a huge deal). The tuning dial works well, but are not precise (for example, to pick up 107.9 I need to be well past 108), but once you figure that out it's ok.
All in all, for $10, I couldn't be happier, and I would absolutely recommend this. The cons aren't even a big deal for me. It's been nice to have in the shower to sing along to.
I can't comment on battery life yet, but I'll update when I need to change them. I only use it while showering, so only 10 minutes or so of use per day and I'm sure the batteries will last a while.
