This hair setter has a few short comings, but is still an overall great product. First the bad...
The actual curlers can sometimes be too hot to touch both when they come out of the heater and even after you put it in your hair. Working with multiple curlers can be difficult. This is especially true if you have thick and/or long hair; the slits in the curlers can easily catch stray strands of hair and create frustrating messes of tangles. Good curls is a matter of getting a feel for what your hair needs. Related to this, good curls take a lot of time (though this depends on the length of your hair) and definitely a lot of patience. Smaller and hotter curlers left in for a longer time is usually best for my hair. It takes about an hour and a half to do all of my hair. The curls tend to become limp after a while. Also, because of the number of curlers actually in the setter the entire set is not too compact and not too convinient for travel. Also consider the type of hair. I have fairly thick hair that is a little kinky, runs down to my mid back, and reponds well to styling. Based on what other reviews have said, results depend on the kind of hair you have.
And now the good...
Using the hair setter is really easy; just plug it in and wait for it to heat up. The curls come out bouncy and shiny without the feeling of having fried them to death. Being able to work with multiple curls make it slight faster than a curling iron. Even though my hair becomes limp after a while, the curls are still visible at the ends even after a night of sleep. As a matter fact, I rather like the curly at the ends look; it isn't as overwhelming as the full-on bounce of when the curls are first set in.
Despite its short comings, this hair setter makes great looking curls with practice and patience.
