The death wheel does indeed give you all the colors you need to simulate necrosis, do zombie makeup, or fake a dead body. But the trick is that you shouldn't use all the colors together. The green, brown, and yellow do a nice job of creating long dead, rotting skin, while the grey and beige give a nice recent death pallor. Mottle them together well using a stipple sponge or other sponge applicator, which ever combo you choose, and you'll get very nice results.
