For anyone looking for completely natural products with no chemicals or additives this is a soap you should try. All of Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soaps are excellent products and the prices offered from the vendors at Amazon are far better than what you will pay in retail stores. I personally prefer the Peppermint version of this soap but it does take a bit of time to get accustomed to the "tingly" feeling that it leaves on your skin. Do take care in not getting this soap in your eyes! The "burn" is more than I've experienced with other soap products and very hard to wash away. I use the product for general bathing including shampoo and shaving, which saves quite a bit on the cost of individual personal care products. I love this soap!
Unlike many commercial "soaps" which are actually chemical detergents, this is actual, old fashioned soap, made with a fat combined with a lye just like in the old days. Because of this, it doesn't dry out your skin like most commercial soaps do.
It's amazingly gentle on the skin, but highly effective at cleaning. A little goes a long way with this stuff and although it's a lot of soap to buy at once, it will save you money. You can use it for all kinds of tasks - cleaning yourself, cleaning clothes, cleaning other things, or even getting rid of bugs on your radishes in the garden. Look up "uses for Dr. Bronner's soap" to see what other things you can find.
Even the crazy writing that covers the entire bottle is quite charming (and fun to read in the bath tub) Thank you Dr. Bronner!

I have been using this peppermint soap for about 10 years and have introduced countless friends to it's pleasures.
I only use it in the shower.It's great first thing in the morning...It creates the most refreshing shower.In the summer it also feels cooling.It does not produce a lot of lather but don't let that scare you off. It gets you so clean whilst not stripping all the oils out of your skin.Sadly, the strong peppermint scent while in use does not stay with you after your shower.Note the bottle label is very interesting (the inventor/company founders philosophy is printed all over the bottle)Personally, I like reading the bottle while I'm showering.
Try a small bottle and I think you will enjoy the refreshing clean that this soap provides.

This product just took out car grease and oil from my husband's dress shirt! He worked on the car a week ago and stained a nice dress shirt. I sprayed it with a commercial stain remover right away and then washed it in the washer and no luck. I was about to toss the shirt-- and then I read that castile oil will take oil out of clothes. I rubbed in the castile oil (mind you that the stain was there for about a week-- not a fresh stain) directly into the shirt--then I let it sit on top of the washer for about half a day. I just ran it through a regular cycle in the washing machine- and voila! Like magic. I love this product, it really does work on almost all cleaning in the house! It saved me from going to the store to buy a another $35 shirt.Customer Review: Acne breakouts

Pros - a thorough cleanser for product loaded hair. Scalp did not break out in acne.
Cons - do not wash face skin or any other skin with this soap. It makes me breakout in acne on face & back. Makes rash breakout on legs and arms.
I wanted to love this product. I spent a lot of money, $10 for a liquid soap, hoping it would be good for everything. It's good only for washing very dirty hair, and only if you can wash hair without Dr. Bronner's touching your skin.
