Of all the heat wraps/neck wraps that I've tried, this one is the best. It covers a lot of area, is designed to lay flat against you, has a velcro fastening that keeps it in place, and holds heat for a considerable time.
The fragrance is light and heavenly--natural aromas, not synthetic smells that could give you a headache. It's a lavender/citrus blend that is calming and refreshing at the same time.
Microwaves in two minutes and can also be used cold by placing in the freezer. I'll probably try it that way this spring or summer while working in the yard.
The best application is around your neck and shoulders, but I've also used it laid across my feet at the office, and in my lap watching TV. It would probably be great for cramps, too. Can be placed anywhere on your body, but some areas you could only use it lying down or reclining, as it won't fasten around your waist unless you're really small. (I'm 5'5" and 125 lbs).
Would be great to place under your back in bed if you have a backache. I guess anywhere on your body that you want even, moist , radiating heat.
I've tried many different types of wraps over the years and this is by far the best one I've ever had.
Two of my friends who also used different types of heat wraps now also have this one and agree that it's the best they've tried. Amazon seems to have the best price on it as well, so you can't go wrong.
Make sure that you're getting the body wrap, not just the regular wrap, pillow, etc. The body wrap is the one that has the best design, in my opinion.
***Update: It's been almost two years now, and this wrap is still going strong. It's held up well, it still works great, and everyone who tries mine wants one for themselves. I've bought two as gifts for friend & sister, and now another sister and my mother want one, so I guess I'll be buying more.
Fragrance is a big problem for all the women in my family--man-made scents give us headaches and cause nausea. The natural lavender/chamomile in this wrap smell wonderful to me and don't cause the adverse reaction in me,though I did give my sister my old one and took the new one for myself in case she couldn't tolerate the fragrance. I find that usually it's the man-made (ie. chemical based) fragrances that make me sick. This wrap doesn't do that to me, and I'm happy to have the new one with the renewed fragrance as compared to my two year old one whose fragrance isn't as noticeable any more.
My sister's happy to have the old one, and it looks and feels almost like new after two years of moderate use. Still soft & plush, still heats up fine, holds it heat, etc.
It probably would be a good idea for Earth Therapeutics made this in an unscented version.
Overall, I'd still say that you'd be hard-pressed to find a better wrap of this type. I certainly haven't come across one yet.
