Customer Review: Great for dermatitis!

On my doctor's recommendation, I switched to a different sunscreen last month, and instantly regretted it: I developed a charming case of dermatitis right around my mouth and chin. I looked like I'd abruptly developed a red, puffy goatee. You know, right in time for my high school reunion. Awesome.
I got a scrip from another doctor, then was also told to get moisturizer, cortisone cream, apply cold packs to my face, etc etc. But every time I tried a moisturizer, it stung like hell. None of the natural cures or masks were working either -- and the steady irritation of moisturizers was actually making the rash worse.
And then my coworker pulled Egyptian Magic out of her purse and told me her entire family swear by it.
Now, it looks bizarre, like a wax mass that's even more solid than Vaseline. (And the instructions on the back abruptly swoop into crunchy-granola mysticism, but the product IS called "Egyptian Magic", so I guess that's to be expected.) But the wax softens almost immediately once you're rubbing it on your fingers, and it goes on smoothly. I was able to apply this to my dermatitis while at work, and no one was the wiser. When I got home I followed up with some Pond's dry skin hypoallergenic cold cream, and crossed my fingers when I crawled into bed.
The next morning, I woke up to find my dermatitis flaking off and whole, clear skin beneath. It was amazing. I instantly bought my own jar, and am now waiting to see if it'll work as well on scars and bruises -- but really, even if it doesn't, the damage control for patches of dry skin makes it well worth the investment.
I generally have very good skin and don't use any sort of product on my face, but I now use Egyptian Magic if I see I'm starting to flake or just look a bit run-down -- maybe once a week. A very thin layer, massaged into my face at night, and I'm good as new in the morning. I'm not 100% committed to EM, and use the Pond's cold cream on roughly the same schedule, but that's because Pond's is 1/4th the price of EM. I'll probably start using EM more as I get older (my skin's starting to dry out and scars more easily now), but for now it's a great general refresher and a total lifesaver for embarrassing, persistent dry skin.
