Customer Reviews of Glycolic Acid 35% Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional)

Customer Review: Amazing! SO glad I tried this!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was using the Boots brand glycolic peel which I did see results but it took about three months. I ordered this brand to try and am so far pleased with it. I use it on my face, neck, chest, and am starting to use it on my hands. I bought it because I have sun damage on my face (two age spots under my eyes), neck, and chest. I have great skin but get the sometimes pimple. I am female and 40!

Pros: Higher % of glycolic acid than some other brands. I use it every 5 days and leave it on for 7 minutes (the first time I used it, I left it on for 6 min.) Since I had been using the Boots brand, my skin was somewhat used to a peel. After my first use, my skin peeled just a little. I have used it for about 5 times now. After two times, I noticed blemishes that had been on my cheeks for for months actually started to go away! Amazing! The sun damage blotches on my neck are actually going away...not just fading, but going away! The sun spots on my cheek bones are fading and I hope with continued use, they too will go away.

Cons/Advice: When the time gets to that 7 min., I am ready to rinse because it starts to sting just a tad. I use a neutralizer and then immediately take a shower where I rinse with only water on my face. BE VERY CAREFUL and take your time when applying. I use a brush and my hands to apply. I hear it stings your eyes and lips if you get it too close. Use a small amount so it does not drip. I haven't had a problem (I've read others have) but take this product seriously and go slow and be careful with the application.

I am very pleased with this product and would totally recommend if you are looking to ease acne and/or age spots.

Customer Review: Finally a Quick Solution that doesn't break the bank
Summary: 5 Stars

My once perfect skin has been replaced by a hormonal unbalanced face. It's very embarrassing and hinders my daily routine. I tried their 70% Lactic Acid one weekend, and it completely wrecked my skin for over a week. After my skin healed from that ordeal, I decided to try my other purchase from this company, the 35% Glycolic Acid peel.

I've been using a 10% Glycolic Acid face wash for the last couple of years, so I've been able to build a good tolerance for this type of acid. Actually my wash has been less than effective because of this, so I definitely needed to step it up.

I applied this acid on a clean dry face, with a cotton ball. After 5 mins I rinsed w/ cool water, then a baking soda water solution for deactivation. It's very strong, and recommend a deactivation solution, dissolved baking soda works fine.

If you have hyperpigmentation and/or forming pimples, you will notice dramatic results right away. I can't say enough good things about this product and this company; that claims to use no alcohol in any of their products. This makes a difference in getting results without the nasty side effects of reactions. You should be careful to read the instructions that the products comes with, or you might result with adverse effects from overuse or sensitivity.

I recently purchased the 50% Glycolic for maybe once a month a application. Love so far, and hopefully my skin will be perfect or at least pretty again within a week or two. These mini peels are very inexpensive and more effective than one strong one from the Spa or Dr. office, that wrecks your skin for weeks. No Down Time here.

Customer Review: Smooth and Soft Skin
Summary: 5 Stars

It really works!! I waited six months to write this review to see how my skin turned out and I am amazed at the results. I used the peel weekly for 8 weeks, then once a month along with the AHA 10% skin lotion to my face and neck. I've also added some of the Glycolic Acid 35% to the AHA lotion and have started to apply it to my arms and shoulders too. My co-worker swore by these products and she has great looking skin in her fifties, so I thought I'd try it now that I'm the big four O.

I have struggled with cystic acne since my twenties and have tried antibiotics, ProActive and Retin A for years with the acne returning and my skin dry and peeling. Now my skin is so much softer with a healthy glow and the acne has cleared up, except for the occasional pimple around that time, if you know what I mean! I also have sun damage to my face with brown spots and freckles and they have faded alot, but are still there. I'm going to try the TCA peel on my cheeks and brown spots for the sun damage and see how that works.
As far as application, I left the peel on for eight to ten minutes with mild burning, rinsed with cool water and applied the AHA lotion afterwards. There is some mild burning with the Glycolic Acid and mild tingling with the AHA lotion, but no other bad effects as mentioned by other reviews I read. But my skin has been used to the Retin A for YEARS, so it may be tougher than others. I am trying the lower strengths, because of my sensitivity to scarring with Asian skin.

AND Don't Forget the Sunscreen!! That's something I use alot of now along with a hat while I'm in the sun.

Customer Review: not really into it...
Summary: 2 Stars

First, I just want to throw some information out there from my own experience as well as from some research I did.

First of all, some people complained that this caused them to get a scab. This happened to me after putting it on some acne that had been dried out from other acne medicines. I initially thought it was the combination of glycolic acid with the other acne medications, but reading up on exactly how this product works, I found out that it basically causes dead skin cells to just fall off. That is exactly what happened to me, because all of that dry, dead skin was sitting on top of my acne and the glycolic acid literally just sloughed it all off in one gentle motion. This left me with a sight even less appealing than the acne. It was actually a little bizarre because the acne bump was just swept away, which would have been good if it hadn't taken my skin with it. So beware of where you put this stuff.

I don't know if it works or not, but I know that I've broken out more since I started using it. I'm not sure if my skin is cleansing itself, but the acne really sucks, and it makes me want to stop using it. Someone else said that they didn't believe that the product pulls water from the cells, but it does do exactly that. This, in turn, can leave parts of your face slightly puffy because the water is closer to the surface. This also happened to me. It went away after about ten minutes, though.

I wouldn't recommend this product because it doesn't seem to be worth the risk of possible new scarring, and because so far I haven't experienced anything positive about it.

Customer Review: Works fast
Summary: 4 Stars

I must say that this product works incredibly fast. I received it in a timely fashion and this bottle came intact (although I ordered the rollerball and it was practically empty when I got it, most of the product had leaked out). Everyone's skin is different and I used the peel one day and felt absolutely nothing. I washed it off then went about the rest of my day. I decided to use it on the following day (I don't recommend that anyone else do this. I know my skin very well and how it reacts to different treatments) and it started to tingle Yay! I washed off after two minutes and noticed that my skin was so smooth, and the minor discoloration on my face were lighter.

I am in my mid twenties with basically clear dark brown skin. I have a few minor flaws (2 pimples that healed and left little black dots and a small discoloration under my eye). This product worked very well for me with no real irritation.

In addition my sister who is just a little older than me with oily skin (I have normal/dry skin), had a small cluster of stress pimples on her cheek. she used it once and they have already started to clear up.

And a little side note. After using the peel you must moisturize. I chose to forgo typical face cream and instead used hydro-cortisone cream. The slight stinging went away immediately and my face felt great

Hope this helps!
ps- I would have given 5 stars but I want to see what happens after the six weeks!
