Customer Review: Purpose Served So Glad I found this
Summary: 4 Stars

@Lifesepiphany, It may have helped if you used it consistantly. I don't think it's suppose to prevent acne but it keeps your skin supple and refreshed. Prevent the acne scaring by daily managing of your skin( not poppin pimples & eating a healthy ). I hope you decide to try it again. I too am African American w/extremely sensitive skin, According to directions, you will experience tingling in the beginning but it's not painful kind. I'm on my 5th application and love the way my sensitive skin responded.( no visible peeling like some other products). After going to a dermatologist for years. I'm glad I decided to try this. I had an out patient procedure before but who can keep that up. Going 1/wk. Especially those of us who are on budgets. My acne scars are deminishing and I use the cetaphil for moisturizer as instructed. I do well w/ Neutragena products as well. I hope you reconsider. It states try atleast 6 apps before giving it a break. I do it 1x/wk

Customer Review: Nothing Happened After My Peel???
Summary: 2 Stars

Ok after a friend had recommended this product and from reading all the positive reviews we decided to try it.... My friend and I tried it one evening and mind you we have had this done professionally so we know the process. After washing our faces thoroughly, we applied three layers of the glycolic peel and waited 6 minutes later. We did experience tingling and some redness but nothing uncomfortable. We washed our face thoroughly ensuring all the glycolic was removed and patted our faces dry. We looked in the mirror and said ok, feels like nothing lets see tomorrow. The next day it felt like we did nothing to our faces, day two, three, four, five.... NOTHING! We thought we would of had some type of evidence that we even did a mini peel... But nothing.

We are going to try this one more time, but we are reluctant too since the first one did nothing. I will let you know what happens in the next few days.

Disappointed Elizabeth :(

Customer Review: Think it's working
Summary: 3 Stars

I've used the peel twice so this review may be premature. I am seeing an improvement in my skin tone. I am African American with very oil skin and hyperpigmentation left from using Proactive serveral years ago. My scars are primarily on my cheek & a few on my forehead. After meeting with an esthetician who suggested I spend $980 on Obagi & an additional $500 on chemical peels, I thought I'd try this peel first. I also purchased the Salicylic peel which I have not tried yet, and Kiss My Face Pore Shrink which I've tried and LOVE. I did not experience a lot of stinging, I left on my face for no more than 2 minutes. I put Coconut Oil on my eyebrows & around my eyes & mouth, as a protectant. I applied with a Q-tip, this seemed easier than using a cotton pad. I washed with baking soda to deactive the acid. I will write another review after I've completed the series (using 6 times) but right now, I am very pleased.

Customer Review: I am pleasantly surprised
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a 40-year-old male with excessively oily skin, and some areas of my face have large pores. I have had glycolic peels in the past at a med/spa place along with microdermabrasion, with positive results but nothing lasting very long. I purchased this item and have used it now for about 3 weeks. I used it once the first week, twice the second week, and once the third week. Each time I have noticed an improvement to my skin: my pores look smaller, my face is less oily and just looks better in general. I recommend this product to anyone thinking about trying it. My skin is not particularly sensitive, so I didnt experiece much in the way of stinging, but I would guess that if you have sensitive skin that you start out with using it only for a couple of minutes to make sure that you dont "overdo" it. Follow the directions carefully. Great product, and much less expensive than going to a med/spa.

Customer Review: This is an effective product
Summary: 5 Stars

This product is exactly what it is advertised to be. However, consumers need to use it conservatively so that it stays on the market (not pulled off due to lawsuits, etc.) I have read that people have experienced burns when using it with other products for ex. acne medication. Since this is potent, one should be careful and use it according to the instructions (not leave it on too long, space the treatments out, etc.). When used correctly, it is very effective in improving skin tone, uneven skin color (esp. melasma), and also improving coloring due to scars or acne. When not used correctly, I have experienced that it can dry skin excessively, and even 'burn' the skin. With melasma even, too aggressive a regimen can darken the discoloration. But, unlike hydroquinone or retinoin, it is highly effective when used over time. The improvements are gradual but clearly visible. I highly recommend it.
