With the other Simple Styles products having worked so well, I was eager to try this Volume Boost comb after the Bump-It epic fail. You will get a boost if you use it correctly, but it's not enough. I've been wanting to do a Sarah Palin beehive look forever, and the pictures on the package made it look like it would do that.
You get a very small amount of volume with this comb. It's enough for the small bangs boost and the slightly volumized ponytail, but that Palin beehive they have on the package just doesn't happen. There's a tiny boost, but not enough, and you may have to do it a few times so it doesn't come out looking ridiculous. This is another Goody product that would have benefited from online video tutorials from the company since the diagram in this one is just as confusing as all the others. You insert the comb upside down, then flip it to get it to stay in place.
I've uploaded some pictures of my 4th or 5th try with this comb. Having found no videos to help me see exactly how it's done, it's not that great. With practice, I think I can make it work for small volume needs. I'm not going to get the Palin beehive advertised on the package unless someone at Goody wakes up and makes a video that shows me exactly how to achieve it. The comb is just too small to do it unless there's something I'm missing-- and for whatever reason, Goody isn't telling.
