Customer Review: A different product - not your typical hair gel

I'm a white guy, which may be of interest to some, since this is not a "black hair" product. I used Groom & Clean about ten years ago when I had longer hair and wanted some form of hair control without using gel. Recently my hair is long again and I wanted to use something that would leave my hair soft, but controlled. With regular hair gel leaves my hair crusty and hard- it does not move. If it does move (let's say it gets bumped or something) then I need to re-wet it and re-style it.
Groom and Clean is different from hair gel. It is, essentially, a very light oil or grease that heavily conditions your hair so that it is thicker and stiffer. It lets your hair move, but allows it to stay in place and push it around. I would not bother to use it with shorter hair styles. It seems more adapted to longer looks. Be aware, though, as much as I am a fan of this product, it is a hair oil/grease product, so there will be a v-e-r-y s-l-i-g-h-t-l-y oily feel to your hair. Nothing oily LOOKING, but you can feel the petroleum byproducts in your hair. I think that is someone did not know you had Groom & Clean in your hair, they wuld simply think it was soft and well conditioned, not greasy. I think its a great product and, as far as I know, its the only one that is widely available in the US. If you have longer hair that you want to style a certain way, you should try it
