Customer Review: Helps me to have a "Rachel" LOL

I finally found a product to give me that slight "bend" that I needed to make me look like Jennifer Aniston (I wish!). I recently cut my, somewhat long, baby fine and thinning hair into that style known as "The Rachel". The one that Jennifer Aniston made so popular. It is long all over, but graduated lengths in the front. This style needs a large round brush to acheive that slight bend at the ends.
I am terrible with a round brush and blow dryer. I tried a blow dryer with a round brush attachment and found it extremely cumbersome. Finally, I came upon the Helen of Troy "Mega" heated brush and..... voila!....perfection!
I dry my hair with a regular blow dryer and after it is dry, I use the "Mega" brush to give me the "bend". I can also use it on days when I have not washed my hair, as well.
I am very pleased with this product.

I agree that it is hard to find this kind of heating iron with the brush teeth, so I ordered this thinking it would be more up to date than the v. old slow-to-heat conair I have.
well, this Helen of Troy heating iron is not any better than the old ones I have. it is sloooow to heat up !!! it also feels cheaper than my old versions. and although it has a plastic cap on the end of the heated part, it seems a little on the skimpy side and I would feel safer and less nervous if the protective cap was more generous. also, the teeth of the brush are rubbery, bendable...makes it feel even cheaper.
All in all, I wanted to return it --- but then I realized that by the time I paid all the postage, I would only get $10 back. So I kept it. But seriously, if I had bought it from a store, I would have taken it back.

I had this same curling iron before, but dropped it so many times that it cracked causing me to buy a new one. The new curling iron is just as great as my old one, and I love a brush curling iron because it gives a softer curve and is also a bit harder to burn yourself on. However, I've still managed to burn myself! The one thing I do not like about this new curling iron is that there is this really tiny groove that runs around the bottom of the barrel between the hot barrel and the handle. My hair gets caught in this grove all the time, and it either ends up getting pulled out or crimped really funny. I think as the curling iron gets older and is used more perhaps this groove won't longer be an issue. Overall, I still like the curling iron and I use it almost everyday.Customer Review: Can't find this in stores

I'm happy this product is still available. It's the only thing I've found that easily tames my frizzy hair. I don't like a regular curling iron without the brush, for some reason the brush is so much easier for me to work with. This is my third curling iron brush in I don't know how many years. Curling iron #2 lasted over four years and some of the teeth finally started to break, maybe from traveling in a suitcase, I don't know. Yes, occassionaly some strands of hair get caught in the middle of the iron and yes, it would be nice if there was an automatic shut off, but the price is right. I'm just so glad I can still find this product!Customer Review: barely heats up at all.

This product is not good at all. It's such low heat that I can put my hand on the barrel and not get burnt. I do not have hair that is hard to curl- this just didn't do anything. Even after letting it heat for 30 min. I was going to return it, but after you pay return shipping, and the restocking fee I wouldn't have gotten any money back. So much for standing behind everything. I threw it away and ordered the Conair version from another amazon retailer. It was 1/4 inch smaller, but works really well. Go with that.
