I can't understand all of the rave reviews for this dryer. I have been searching for a new hair dryer to replace a Conair (from drugstore) dryer I got about 10 years ago. It wasn't the typical drugstore Conair. It had a larger motor, was heavier than most dryers, but it dried hair quicker than others I tried at the time. It has started making strange noises, so I've been searching for a replacement.
First I tried a Babyliss dryer. It dried my hair SO quickly, but I have natural blond, fine hair. It had a lot of air flow and actually kept causing my hair to tangle. It was pretty hot, too.
Then I tried this Hot Tools Helix Lite 2200. It takes my hair longer to dry than my 10 year old (non-ion) Conair dryer. It doesn't seem to have a tremendous amount of air flow compared to others I've used. I'm very disappointed with this dryer. It would be a satisfactory hair dryer if I had purchased it from a drugstore/discount store for an average price. However, I spent more money and expected more. I surely didn't expect it to take longer to dry my hair than my 10 year old one.
Don't think I would recommend this to friends and family. It's an okay dryer, but it's definitely nothing special.
