I had this done by one of my friends who is a hair stylist so it was done correctly.
My hair is long, thick, some curl, some waves, some sort of straight & somewhat coarse. I have the type of hair that I can never just wash, brush & leave the house unless I want to look like a crazy witch or something. My hair would get so poofy, frizzy and out of control if I did that. I have to blow dry my hair which takes more than 30 minutes then I have to straighten my hair with a straightener which takes me about 20 minutes at least. I normally have to go over the same strand several times to get it perfectly straight like I like. And once I had my twins I really had no time to fix my hair, it was usually in a pony tail.
Using the Maintamer:
First I must say that if you have long or thick hair you should buy 2. We had enough to cover everything but it was close to running out and my husband had to squeeze every last drop out. We did everything just as the instructions said.
RESULTS:
I still have to blow dry & straighten my hair with my Conair Straightener. I thought that I might be able to get away with just blowing it straight but my hair was still poofy and wavy, not at all straight like I wanted. I will say that it WAS quicker for me to blow dry & straighten my hair after using the maintamer but it still took me a long time.
I'm on the search now for a straightener that will actually straighten my hair, not just relax it a little. If you're looking for a straightener to take the waves or curl out of your hair & make it straight, this is NOT it.
