Customer Review: Girl stuff or Boy stuff?

This is rather mysterious stuff and hard to figure out. Discontinued or limited distribution, this rather sharp-smelling,"clean" (but not laundry detergent) woody/chypre fragrance is listed many places (as here at Amazone as a "pheromone for women" and elsewhere as "unisex." The blurb on the box implies that it is for men. So who to believe?
To my nose it is decidedly feminine, but so sharp and dry that it could be unisex very easily so I really don't know. And what about the pheromones? I mean, am I supposed to be attracting men or women, I don't know. But I'm putting my innate skepticism aside and trying this cheap drugstore cologne in the hope that I'll suddenly appear irresistibly attractive to the cute boys with elaborate haircuts who work at Whole Foods -- or meltingly adorable to the icy ladies at the park. Or preferably (as the hype intimates) both.
But this juice really confuses me and I suppose everyone else (hence the general confusion about which sex it is formulated to attract). I sort of appreciate it, but I don't really like it. It does not smell quite like anything I've ever smelled, and in this day and age of sticky-sweet clone-juice that it a big plus. The drydown is nicely unobtrusive. And --skeptic that I am -- it does seem to "buzz" a little with some kind of obscure (to the human nose) chemical brew . This subliminal synthetic hormone adds a rather odd warmth to the bitter crispness. It is actually the only this that makes it, for me, tolerable (whilst many many high-end brands are completely intolerable). But only tolerable. However -- whatever works!!
Note: After 3 days of heavy wear I have not noticed any change in the attitude of either sex towards me. Sure, some random woman at Target told me my haircut was "absolutely adorable." But then another woman at the health club told me I "looked tired." And that cute boy at Whole Foods serving wine samples didn't even crack a smile at me. My husband variously and on various days described it (upon demand) as smelling, "soapy," "okay," and "girl-stuff" and "perfume."
