I have issues with shine and large pores around the nose/ cheeks and Jane Iredale's absence does a great job priming the skin, smoothing out the pores, and helping to smooth the fines lines around my eyes. Even though it is white in the container, I find that is disappears onto my skin without changing the color at all. Perhaps if you put it on too thickly it would make you paler, but it doesn't have that effect on me although I am somewhat fair (I wear Warm Silk in the pressed powder). It does not completely eliminate shine or oil, and I do still have to touch-up with powder later in the day, but I don't think that any gentle, natural product WILL completely eliminate shine all day. Overall, I like how my make-up goes on over this, and the way it smooths my skin without causing breakouts.
