Customer Reviews of Jerdon Classic JGL9W Lighted Tri-fold Mirror, 5x Magnification

Customer Review: Awesome mirror!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought 2 of these mirrors, 1 for myself and 1 for my mom. My mom is 58 yrs old, and her old mirror had recently died. She had searched for awhile for a new mirror, but complained that everything she saw didn't have good enough lighting. Well, I bought this and she loves it. She says the lighting is great. As for reviews that said that the lightbulbs burn out fast, they're wrong. You may have to hold the on switch down for a few extra seconds, but you had to do the same thing with the older mirrors that had great lighting too. I'm very happy with this mirror, and so is my mom!

Update: I bought these mirrors 2 yrs ago, and they both still work great! I haven't needed to change a lightbulb in either of them.

Customer Review: Took a chance...so wrong
Summary: 1 Stars

After searching for a replacement for my dead Revlon lighted magnifying mirror, I read all your reviews listed for this product. I thought armed with the information from several users about holding the "on" button a few seconds to get the lights to come on, I would be fine with it. Ok, so it worked the first 3 times. Now it tries to light up one light, but not the other, or absolutely nothing. I try holding the switch down and allow the lights to "flicker", but not no sparks! And it always happens when I am trying to get ready to go out and want to see my face.

I no longer have the packaging, but I am going to return this product for another. Such a disappointment, and now a hassle as well.

Customer Review: Lighted Makeup Mirror
Summary: 5 Stars

This replaces a similar mirror I've used for many, many years. The fluorescent light is by far superior to any incandescent lighted mirror which gets too hot and yet still has light that's too dim. I'm use to holding the "on" switch down about 3 seconds to turn on the light. That's no problem. The fact that they make it difficult to replace bulbs is an annoying and stupid design feature. I trust that when the time comes, my husband, who has done electrical work, will figure it out. I myself changed bulbs in my old mirror that was a different brand. Overall I'm very happy to have found this. I've looked around for several years without success. It was delivered on time and the description was correct.

Customer Review: Definitely recommend this mirror
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been using this mirror for ten to fifteen years. Recently, the bulbs went out and I discovered that there's no easy way to replace them, so it seemed worth it to just buy a new mirror. Actually, this one is a little bit better. I think that lighting technology has changed a bit since I last bought it and the lever that changes the lighting is smoother. My last one became very difficult to move and it eventually broke off every time I tried to move it.

All in all, the option to change the lighting is fantastic and it gives off plenty of light to be able to do my makeup in low light situations. I'm hoping it will last another ten to fifteen years, this is well worth the money.

Customer Review: Misleading advertising or not?
Summary: 4 Stars

After doing what I thought was extensive research to get an excellent quality makeup mirror, I decided this by BeBeautiful was the best and ordered it.
When I uncrated it, I was surprised that it wasn't as big as the makeup mirrors used to be but I was "plumb dumbfounded" and SHOCKED to see the name of Jerdon on the box. It appears to be the very same 5X magnification mirror that is listed for a $20 something price when I paid $55 for mine.
All on the Amazon.com pages. Check it out for yourself.
Truth in advertising? Not so sure it applies here.
I play by and believe in the Golden Rule. So sad that the sellers of this mirror didn't.
