Minuses: I burned and developed a load of freckles!
My complexion is fair thus sunscreen that works is very important for me. I picked this up at Whole Foods before leaving for Hawaii in April after reading all the positive reviews here at Amazon. I used the product a great deal during those two weeks. I felt as though I had no protection on since I could keenly feel the burning on my skin as if I'd gone outside unprotected. I truly wanted to be a champion for a product so light and easy to apply but the results weren't good for me. My husband was amazed & surprised at how much freckles had surfaced on my skin. My face had barely a freckle on it when I left and when I returned my whole face was freckles like I've never seen in my life! I've always been careful in the sun. Even in Hawaii I would wear a hat and some sort of wrap or light sweater on my shoulders & arms. Of course, when I was in the ocean my skin was exposed but otherwise I was careful even though I was wearing sunscreen. My recommendation for the especially fair-complected is to bring a back up sunscreen of another brand in case this does not work for you so you are not stuck. I was re-applying this like you wouldn't believe when I felt the burning and saw the redness but to no avail. While at the farmer's market I felt the burning heat of the sun right through my light sweater and yes I had this sunscreen on underneath. I ended up bumming sunscreen off from others as the journey progressed. While the concept is nice, this product did not deliver. I'll be looking for a lotion sunscreen in the future.
