So, about six months ago, I dyed my naturally light ash blonde hair to a dark brown. Over the past six months, I dyed it four times: the first time a light brown, the second time darker because I wanted a dark chocolate brown, and the other two times the same dark chocolate brown because the color faded fast and to cover my roots since my hair grows quickly. I finally decided I wanted to be blonde again instead of having to keep dying since my roots come in so quickly, and so I used a product that takes the dyed color out of your hair. It turned my hair an odd, dark, brassy orange color. So I went immediately back to the drug store and picked up this product.
The product is really simple to use. You just mix bottle 1 and bottle 2 and put it on your hair. The consistency is kind of like glue, and it was a little difficult for me to spread. It doesn't smell great, but it's definitely not the worst smelling of products that I've used on my hair, so I can't complain. I got it all over my hair and used it for 5-6 minutes. You can use it for between 5 and 10 minutes, but I was a little worried about frying my hair, since I've already put it through so much, so I did the minimum requirement. I washed it out, and shampooed, even though you don't have to. I was just making sure to get all of the product out because, like I said, it was a little bit like glue. I used the conditioner, and I'd say it's a pretty good conditioner. My hair doesn't seem more damaged because of the use of the product.
My results were okay, I suppose. I gave it a 3 stars, though I suppose I'd say like 3 and a half, really if I could do half stars. The orange came out of my hair, but the results are a bit patchy. I think that may be because it was hard for me to spread the stuff. I'd have liked a little less of a warm tint in my hair, but I can't complain because I didn't use it for 10 minutes. So I give it a 3.5. I'd use it again if my hair was brassy, but if I heard good things about another product, I'd be just as likely to try that one as well.
