I am a color consultant and makeup artist and have sold this mirror to my clients for nearly 20 years. It is unmatched at doing what is was designed to do and that is magnifying your lips, your eyes, your skin with distortion free clarity and accuracy so you can apply lipstick artfully, blend foundation evenly, tweeze your brows with precision, check your teeth for spinach....whatever you need to see and do. I have never seen another brand to match it. It's a no brainer. People buy one then buy one for all the female friends and family members on their gift list. Now here's the rub. You need to know two things. This mirror is designed so it can travel with you and has a base with strong suction cups that allow you to stick it on your hotel mirror. Then when you check out, you don't even notice it and you leave it behind. Oddly, the cleaning staff "never found it" if you call the hotel to try to get it back. The way to avoid this is to hang something from it like a brightly colored ribbon or piece of yarn. A mirror stuck to a mirror just kind of blends in. The other issue to be aware of is this. This is a highly magnified mirror. If there is dust on it those dust particles will also be magnified...by 5 times. If you wipe it with a dry cloth, the tiny marks those dust particles make will also be magnified 5 times. Permanently. Just read the flyer that comes with the mirror that tells you how to clean the surface so that doesn't happen. You'll love this mirror. I don't know what I'd do without it. For someone who wears glasses it's a must. But even if you don't it's a must have item.
