Customer Review: Irritating, not soothing

After reading the other rave reviews and purchasing this product, I was disappointed to find the noise the machine makes to be quite grating on the ears. I had a headache within minutes of turning it on. The product is essentially a small fan in a small plastic case; I found I slept much better when I turned on a full-sized fan, which doesn't make as irritating a sound, and which was a lot cheaper, too. I had hoped that using this product would save electricity (and alleviate my guilt about using fossil fuel to power a full-sized fan while I sleep) but the noise was just so irritating I couldn't use it at all.
