Customer Review: Just OK -- not like the genuine Marseille soaps

This soap smells good and is creamy to lather. However, if you are looking for a traditional Marseille soap to slice and use as an all-purpose face/body/clothing cleanser, this isn't going to be what you're used to or expecting. It doesn't at all resemble the cubes of Marseille soap that are made the traditional way; it seems very much like a modern soap. Also, it crumbles to pieces if you try to slice it to manageable size. Its a very high quality soap compared to the junk they sell in drug stores, but if you're looking for Marseille soap and know what that is usually like, you are likely to be disappointed by this one. I am giving it only two stars because it is good soap, and I'm definitely going to use it and enjoy it, but calling it Marseille soap is misleading.
