I'm really happy I purchased this heat cap! It's far easier to get 2 - 15 minute sessions per week with it than trying to get at least 1 hour long session each week with out it. It heats up very quickly. I have type 1c/2a silvering hair so it's really thirsty.
The cons: 1)It can get pretty hot on the low setting. Easy fix: A friend said she slips a turbie twist type towel on first. It's perfect fix! Just give it a twist and smooth it over your head.
2) It's shaped a little goofy. It's made a little long/tall which causes it to ride up a little. @@@ For this reason I gave it 4 stars. @@@
I feel it is still fairly workable w/o strapping it down and try to put most of my arm pit length hair on top of my head. Heat rises so even if there is an air space up there - it's still nice and toasty!
*** Ok a few comments have been made about not much heat at the back. Yes, I noticed that too. However, as noted in point 2, most of the hair is on top and that is where the heat goes so I don't consider this a problem.
It has a nice heavy cord. I used it when reading or at the computer. If I need to step away a couple minutes - it stays warm for a little while.
**** I would definitely buy this item again. ***** 8-)
