Customer Review: Gentle on the skin, a surprisingly good moisturizer, one of my can't-live-without products.

This cream contains 2% hydroquinone, a skin-bleaching agent that may be considered dangerous. The 2% is the legal, non-prescription, over-the-counter amount of hydroquinone currently allowed by law (you can probably get a prescription for 4% cream from your doctor). There have been warnings that continual use of hydroquinone may lead to a skin color change of blue (I think they mean that the blood vessels under your skin may start to show through the skin). I am of Asian descent, and have been using this product on a daily basis for over five years. I can only recommend this product to others of Asian descent. If you are caucasian, please be sure to talk to a dermatologist before using any amount of hydroquinone.
Pros:
- The dry skin formulation from Nadinola is a cream that is a surprisingly good moisturizer. Not only is the hydroquinone effective in lightening your skin, the appearance of your skin is improved through its moisturizing properties.
- This cream is very gentle. Used on a daily basis, there have been no adverse effects (recommended only for Asians), no stinging of the skin, and no drying of the skin.
- The hydroquinone is also very gentle. The lightening of the skin occurs over a long period of time, is very subtle, and does not lead to different patches of skin color.
- The cream has a very good consistency, is easy to apply, is absorbed into the skin very very quickly (within a minute or two), and does not leave the skin "sticky" or shiny.
- Some hydroquinone products have a strange smell to them - a chemical or medicine-type smell. This cream doesn't seem to have any odor whatsoever.
Cons:
- Like all other hydroquiinone products on the market, this cream has a tendency to change color over time. The cream is snow white coming out of the box, and over time changes into a creamy brown color. This does not change the effectiveness of the cream at all, however, it is disconcerting to see your products completely change color.
