Customer Review: I wanted to love this shampoo...

...but after trying it alone, I was sad to find that it stripped my hair of the natural oils just like other shampoos. I have shoulder-length, healthy hair and my routine is to thoroughly brush my hair before showering/washing it, then gently brush out tangles after my shower. (Yes, I know you're not supposed to brush wet hair, I do it anyway; can't stand tangled hair.) My hair was actually squeaky-clean (some people may like that), and I had great difficulty brushing after showering. Even after I gently removed ALL tangles, the brush STILL didn't want to go through my hair. (A vented brush without a ton of bristles.)
I tried this shampoo many ways: lots of shampoo, leaving it on my hair through the shower, very little shampoo, rinsing it out immediately after washing. I even tried a small amount in my palm and using fingertips to work it into my scalp alone, so that only rinsing it out would let it touch my hair. It still stripped my hair where it touched it.
On the plus side, my hair has more body after it's dry. I've started using a good conditioner with this shampoo: washing my hair first thing, rinsing, then putting conditioner on my hair and leaving it on through my shower. My hair is much more manageable doing it this way, but I doubt I'll be buying this shampoo for myself again.
One last note: it's not a high lathering shampoo, which doesn't bother me; just an f.y.i. for other buyers.
